I ask a question about diabetes and how it gets to the point of limb
amputation. Is there a profile on the patient that lets their diabetes go
so far as to need an amputation? Are there cases of diabetes where no
matter how well the patient takes care of themselves the diabetes is going
to produce this result? We have some diabetic members at our Senior center.
One man has lost a leg. I do not remember exactly how we got on discussing
his missing leg but he told me "oh no I was hit by a car" Goes to show you
cannot always make a connection like I almost did.
Have you ever had an infected knee , limb etc drained , it is fckn painful , I almost never got sick , had fractures , had 22 stitches once on my left leg and went back to work straight fron the ER , same with my right arm , 17 stitches , but when I had my knee drained I screamed like a baby , worst than this guy .
Seems like the drainage incision should've been larger, and the infection
squeezed entiely out before syringe push of lidocaine, saline and
polvidine?
+Jamie-Lynn Murray that's what i said.. ive watched too many videos to say this was finished.. this being the second one from this dr.. and the patients both were returning patients.. o.0
This doctors vocabulary is ridiculous. "...make it go around and around,
and it comes out with more stuff." He either works on retarded hicks all
day or has a very poor syntax.
Or he tries to help the patient relax, by not confusing them with all kinds of medical jargon. You could tell this patient was not a PhD, so I think he spoke perfectly to him. It takes someone with exceptional people skills to put any type of person at ease, and after watching his vids for years, I can honestly say he does a great job.
i Really feel bad for this old timer.I have a soft place in my heart and
the fact that this man has lost his leg hes just had bad hand dealt him. I
hope everything turns out ok for the old timer.
The first and second lidocaine injections hurts like fuck, but that stuff
works wonders! Had to get injections fairly deep into the lower side of my
big toe, jesus did that one hurt bad. This guy takes the injections about
as well as I did- not very! Totally worth it though.
It's usually part of the package when one reaches a certain number of subs, views, likes and comments. The YouTube algorithm adds in merch. However, his wife became very ill and requires a great deal of care. So, while he he started this for educational purposes, perhaps the tiny amount of income from YouTube helps now.
+Chris Caps I'm on your side here as Cancer carcinogens are often exposed to people who have no choice or don't even know they are around. On the other hand, it is well known what foods we eat will cause us health problems. I don't feel bad for fat people and don't buy the whole predisposition BS. If one was predisposed to obesity, then eat right & exercise. I have high cholesterol & heart disease in my family and guess what, I avoid certain foods and exercise. It's that simple and I am healthy weight wise and my blood work is good. Meanwhile, there are cell towers, factories, car emissions, and many other carcinogens I see daily and can't avoid. One day they may give me Cancer by no fault of my own. To those who don't get it, that's the difference. Life choices cause type 2 diabetes & DNA causes type 1. Cancer, is a crap shoot and so many factors play a role. Comparing type 2 diabetes to Cancer is dumb. Mmmkay.....
+MacDonald Bongington OK I'll do that but please dont ever compare cancer to type 2 diabetes cos its the most ridiculous comparison anyone could ever make.
+MacDonald Bongington Alright keep your knickers on "douchebag"!!!!And im still waiting on your explanation on the difference between type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
+Chris Caps I didn't know using the word "douchebag" implied a man on man relationship. Grow up and use an actual insult, this isn't a school yard. If you think gay is an insult you've got some issues.
+TheRealMrPapaya The doctor mentioned it at the beginning thats why,and yeah a few swear words really get to me,so now cos u told me to fuck off im going to turn my laptop off and cry myself to sleep:(..cant believe a bloke would use the word "douchebag" thats just so gay LOL.
+Chris Caps Dude who came here to bash a double amputee for potential being a double amputee due to diabetes can't handle a few cuss words? Fuck off, douchebag.
+MacDonald Bongington nicely said, I'm a Type 1, you are correct, you do worry, especially about what i eat, taking my Insulin, checking my bloods. Ive had complications aswell. Over time it does affect you mentally, you tend to give up, not everyone is like that, but a lot are. I'm sorry, but other judgemental morons on here need to know, that it does get to the point where you don't care anymore, everyone is different, and can't all be put in the same bracket as people seem to think. There's also a lot of people have mental problems, and through that become Diabetic or unhealthy, not everything is b/w!
Yeah i know the truth does hurt sometimes but unfortunately people these days dont give a fuck about their health and then expect doctors to do miracles, but seriously your comparison between cancer and type 2 did make me laugh but not for too long.
+Chris Caps You're seriously stupid, aren't you? Because you have cancer in your genetics doesn't mean you're just going to get cancer out of nowhere. You have to trigger the cancerous cells with carcinogens... Cancer is something that happens when you breathe/consume/touch carcinogens over a period of time and trigger cells. Type 2 diabetes is something that people have to monitor heavily and problems arise when they eat unhealthy foods, very similar to people having to be in contact with carcinogens for problems to arise with their dormant cancerous cells. If you want to refute that, then it goes to show your ignorance. Accept you were wrong and go on with your day
+MacDonald Bongington Yes of course certain foods eaten over a very long period of time can trigger off certain cancers but it is mainly down to genes so still there is no comparison between cancer and type 2 diabetes. And also i do know quite a few people that have type 2 and they havent lost limbs or had heart attacks due to it like this guy has. This are extreme cases cos this people couldnt and havent given a shit about their health for a long time cos type 2 doesnt just doesnt happen overnight,so like i said your comparison is a load of shit but you are entitled to your opinion.
+Chris Caps Yes, cancer is genetic, but you still have to trigger it by consuming/breathing in carcinogens. Type 2 can be helped but you clearly know no one with the disease because a strict diet your entire life can be a bit depressing. Why don't you learn how to spell before you go around trying to act like you have a brain between your ears? Fucking moron...
+MacDonald Bongington What a stupid comparison!!Most cancers are down to genes in your DNA.Type 2 diabetes can be helped and also well controlled with medication..Why dont u get some information on this before u write shit on here u Ignoramus!!
That's like saying it's hard to feel bad for a cancer patient for dying. It doesn't make sense to demonize someone for their disease, please keep your irrational opinion to yourself.
I'm not sorry to say this, but I really do dislike this kind of thing. I've known wonderful people who made bad diet and lifestyle decisions, most are still with us, one person that was close to me died, yet, nobody thinks they deserve medical care, nobody thinks they deserve any help, they just want them to die, why not just take someone who's overweight out and shoot them?
+Bird Jesus I'm heavyset, but I still weigh less than 300 pounds(Classed in the "overweight" range, but not "obese", I work only part time and volunteer part time(used to work two jobs until an accident that resulted in a broken arm ended that), Gym membership is outside my means but I do incorporate activity into my day, whenever I have somewhere to be, I always go on foot or use public transit(and the nearest bus stop isn't exactly right in front of my house), I don't have heart disease, diabetes or high cholesterol, I try to cook as much as I can, but my place has no stove, I have a griddle and a microwave to work with...and due to an affordable housing crisis, finding good housing is difficult, so it's not as if I can up and move to a place that does have a stove, blood pressure hasn't been a concern either, slightly high, but not dangerous.Yeah, it is ridiculous, it looks like society has a long way to go too...
+Hanako Fairhall I wish I could say I'm not still struggle with my weight, My heaviest was 450lbs... It sucks. I'm working 2 jobs, going to school full time, and I volunteer. I don't have free time. I can't go to the gym, I literally don't have time. I rarely have time to cook, I get 4 hours of sleep a night, so I can't cut any more sleep. but I'm a terrible person because I'm over weight. I don't have any health problems, other than congenital feet and ankle problems, not diabetic, my cholesterol is fine, I do have slightly high blood pressure, but so does my 120lb mom, 110lb sister, 150lb dad, so I don't think it's my weight. But because I'm overweight I'm literally the scum of the earth. it's ridiculous.
+Bird Jesus I'm sorry to hear that you struggled with weight for a long time.I hate that too, I can handle being called ugly and the like, but being told that I'll die and that my dying is "Thinning the herd" and "Getting rid of another parasite who'll just drain resources" Then that's going too far...Society(yes, I do say society) has a lot to make up for just from what people said about my mom after she died as it is...This guy might bitch at people wanting doctors to work miracles...but sometimes I wish they would(They are working on it I think...but many places don't consider it profitable)...the world would be a lot fairer if they did...
+Hanako Fairhall Thank you for this. This is exactly my thoughts on the matter. I've struggled with my weight my entire life. and while I'm down 130 lbs from my heaviest, I still have a long way to go. People fail to realize the effect being told how worthless you are based entirely on your weight has on a person. When people tell you you're disgusting and pathetic, and no one will ever love you, especially when you're working so hard to drop the weight,it kills a part of you. You start think it's pointless to lose weight, because you'll always be worthless because you were overweight at one point.
+Chris Caps I hope you don't mind me speaking up about this (most people on this side of the fence have, calling me an idiot and pathetic for it...I hope you're the exception).sigh People have no compassion these days...I'm all for being objective, I'm all for personal responsibility, but sometimes it's just plain difficult to diet and lose weight..people don't know or care how unnatural it is to have to measure your food and measure your exercise...until about a hundred years ago or even 50 years ago, nobody had to worry about that, now we're being told to suddenly evolve and do this? I've already heard several times that things are changing faster than we can evolve. What's just as bad is that people are now defined by what ailments they had or how heavy they were when they were alive, not by how they acted toward other people or the deeds they did. Large people aren't just being called "Ugly" anymore, people are saying "You're ugly and you deserve to get Heart disease and Diabetes and die, now stop using up resources that people who really deserve it needs". Nobody cares that they're good people and loved by many....It was that attitude that killed my mom, she wanted so badly to lose weight that she got a dangerous surgery which just made her constantly ill for the rest of her life....And a doctor made the conscious decision to perform it on her.I'm with Ros Jenner...people have to realize that factors have changed, such as the majority of foods being "Refined" with sugar and fat...
+Holly P I know what you r saying but these days we have so many different types of medication to help weight loss.Plus my point is more about preventing this conditions, people really neglect there health and then expect doctors to do miracles.
Also there are people with certain conditions cannot loose the weight no matter how hard they try. Weight disorders that make their fatty glands in larged. Every body is different, every persons case is different as well as their bodies. You need to take that into consideration.
Not if he has no legs to workout. It's harder too lose the weight unfortunately. Like my mom she has RA and she cannot lose the weight for the life of her. It's sad ;(
+Bird Jesus Cant u get your point across without using language like that??Also did u understand what i meant by "help"??and another question..u think that everyone that has type 2 diabetes has severe mental health issue???cos if u do u r totally wrong there.
+Chris Caps We're not talking about a fucking "rough Patch" here. You're right, they don't give a shit. Their mind is so broken that they can't, you ignorant shit stain.
+Bird Jesus Sorry but a lot of people go thru a rough patch in their lives(including myself)but this doesnt mean that u should neglect your health like this people do.Admit it...they dont give a shit!!!Cos if they did there is plenty of help out there.
+Chris Caps What people like you fail to realize is obesity is a symptom of mental illness. Yeah, I feel bad for the guy. really fucking bad. his mind is so fucked his body is falling apart.
+Rhiannon Chaffer given he's a bilateral above knee amputee, I would bet money it's caused by diabetes related peripheral vascular disease. There are very few reasons to amputate a limb, even fewer to amputate both. Given this patient's morphology, I'd bet quite a bit of money on it being type 2 diabetes. Sad, but all too common now with our refined foods sugar laden diets.
I do feel sorry for the guy, by the sounds of it he's not the best educated. But it's so sad to see things like this, especially when type 2 diabetes (if that's what caused this) is completely reversible
+Owen Quinn Synthol is a mineral oil like the brazilian ADE , he cause a infection in the local aplication, because this the muscle look big, but its Just an infectionthe doctor Just say to guy stay calm
+Gabriel Quintal Can you translate what they were saying?? Im from the USA and well familiar with street drugs ( I do not do them) but I know most..what is synthol?
this is a knee. I used to have a bad acl mcl or one of my major tendons was
in very bad shape and had to have it removed and my knee cap had to be
shaved and it had a lot of liquid back up when it would mess up when I cut
while running and it would get a enormous amount of build up on my knee aka
liquid on my knee and the amount of swelling it ever had each time it
happened it hurt like hell and I couldn't amagine the pain this person has
experienced has to be very very huge. feel sorry for him hope he had a lot
of pain meds In him.
I almost died from an actinomycosis infection that started from an IUD. I
became septic and it spread to my lungs and throughout my gut. This is very
interesting to me because they had a difficult time diagnosing me. I hope
people remember what it looks like too!
