Challenges Bariatric Weight Loss Surgery Patients | //www.blossombariatrics.com | 702-904-8011 I'm Dr. Tom Umbach. I've been doing bariatric surgery for ...
Hi Dr. Tom I'm 254lb diabetic controlled perfectly 6.3-6.8 a1c for 16 years
IN A ROW! 52 YO Going through Menopause and the stress of losing my father,
only sibling and mother within 5 years including our daughter. Since past
year control has been harder with a1c 7.0-7.4. Currently down to 7.1 and
losing about a pound a week watching carbs and eating quest bars instead of
meat which I hate. My doctor wants me to have bariatric surgery despite my
being anemic, previous DVT/PE after ankle surgery, and limited mobility due
to tendon reconstructions and injuries in both ankles and elbows. Chronic
pain, fibromyalgia, Myofacial pain as well. Blood pressure and lipid
profile decent, not on meds. I don't have issues with food, not a food
addict or other psychological food issues. Just can't walk much or do arm
exercise due to elbow surgeries. I do ride a Yamaha supercharged waverunner
in the summer 3-5x per week. Not passive, very hard riding. Should I
consider surgery or keep on my course?
Wow - getting rid of diabetes via bariatric surgery seems like a miracle!
And laparoscopically too - with no hospital stays and small scars? This is
an amazing breakthrough. Heading to Las Vegas in a few weeks, and will
definitely swing by Blossom Bariatrics. Calling today. Thank you for the
heads up!

+uniquelyou82 Hello Uniquely... I actually do have some itching.. everywhere.. its different for me on a daily basis no consistency here. I will be seeing my endo doc next month and will mention this to her and let you know. Well after surgery it took a while for me to get back into shape bc i had the RAI in feb and so i was not able to really get back to me wt until march and my surgery was in november of 2013 and my RAI (radioactive iodine therapy) was in feb. I would have to say though once my endo doc and i found a dose that my body was good with which i think was 125 mcg i felt comfortable. I am now taking 137mcg and seeing next month where my TSH will be that. I will be posting an update on my journey and I hope this helped. Good luck with everything.

@yourleaderslie Yes but if there is a small amount of large nodules, they
could be malignant and surgery is required. However if the ultrasound scan
show multiple small nodules it can be corrected with medication, as the
nodules are benign and it is a typical case of Grave's disease. Anyhow
always see more than one doctor in such cases.
How hard it is to embrace the idea that radiation can really solve a malady
that some countries most routinely deal with by surgery? It's most odd, to
me. That may prove to be my least forward-looking-seeming viewpoint ever,
but there you go. It looks a bit wanton to me from 40,000 feet though!. :-)
Hi,,, no worrys.. I had this done back in 84 its not such a big deal apart
from some discomfort the first few days... I need to take levothyrxine now
but all is ok.... so go ahead dont worry.
@scryerofold if its enlarged may cause compression on structures around
also in this cause it could be malignant there is different reasons to take
the decision to take it out
when the underlying cause is cancer, you have to take it totally out, if
there is another cause which can be corrected with medications then there
is no need to take it out
research this completely before going this route! After this surgery you
will be dependant on meds for LIFE. There are other options, exhaust those
first.
//thyroiddiets.info - Hypothyroidism, low thyroid or underactive thyroid are all related to a low working thyroid problem that a correct thyroid diet may help.

Post Bilateral Thyroidectomy Update #5
This video is about Post Bilateral Thyroidectomy Update #5.
I also had a complete thyroidectomy on September 16th, 2014.
I am experiencing all of the same things you describe in this video (except
for the weight loss, lucky you!) Exhausted during the day, insomnia at
night, I wear out very quickly. I also had some calcium and vit D issues in
the beginning. Blood work tomorrow again. My doctor has decided to add
Cytomel, hoping it helps.
Enjoy watching your updates, thanks and hope you stay well.
I'm so happy you are recovering well! Have you tried Valerian Root to help
with sleep? Just a thought. Also, a white noise app on your phone is an
absolute godsend. :)
