@jjhays36 I hate to sound like a know all but I am into warships & she is a
US designed "Oliver Hazard Perry" class that were first commissioned in the
early '80's. The US passed several surplus ones on to places like Poland &
Turkey. Some S American navies still have 50 year old ships in service but
I guess she would be too sophisticated & expensive for their needs.

@shotgun10151 The sunken ships do help the environment. All harmful
materials AND recyclable materials are removed from the ships. When the
ships go down they create artificial reefs for the sea life to live in.
Plus they create tourist attractions which helps local economies.

instead of sinking ships in the oceans why dont people recycle them,
cutting torches and trucks to haul scrap away to steel factory simple and
saves the enviroment

Surprised they sunk a fairly modern ship instead of selling it on because
there are much older ships in service with small navies.
