I believe cause-effect are here the other way around. Araiza moved to heavier roles because his voice demanded it. The human voice is not a static matter along life. Nobody can keep physical characteristics constant during the whole life, same is with the voice. IMO Araiza did the right movements according to the development of his voice and artistic motivation.

Fantastic!!! Araiza was/is one of the most beautiful tenor voices of the last 30 years. Always singing with a great sense of taste and style without making foolish tricks with falsett ect. Just pure, honest and beautiful!!!! Bravo!!!!

@Macbett0 no he's still singing and doing a great job. Also he's a spinto tenor not a lyric. Although he also sings Wagner so he just might be a dramatic tenor.

Araiza sacrificed his high notes in turning to Wagnerian roles. We don't know if this is the wisest move, but as it is, every one needs to take risks.

I am also trying to get his Siegmund(Walküre) which he sung in 2007 at the Tiroler Festspiele in Austria!
