The native dream catcher a.k.a. "that upon which the mind dwells, causes
the subconscious to remember" (dream about). Up here each item placed
within the circle represents a memory learned from the form from which the
item came. Fox hair might represent the need to be cunning and clever. An
eagle claw or feather might represent long range vision as in looking
beyond where others look or to act quickly at just the right moment just as
the eagle watches his prey, guages his speed and snatches a fish from the
water just as the fish rises to the surface. And so on.
Each tribe up here has different forms of dream catchers but their purpose
is universal - to remember and catch the dream. I see people making them
today out of junk that they just think looks cool instead of actually
representing something important to remember. The ancient language of
symbolism is forgotten by most today.
Thanks for the look see at your's Dan.
