//www.theirontemple.com/forum/index.php After my heavy deadlift day at the gym, I went to the dojo. I was supposed to meet a dojo Brother there today, but ...
明武館剛柔流空手そうですね。先生の道場は米国の嘉手納軍基地のたなりにありますか。あなたの鎚石(チ―シ)は重いそうです。Ah, the Meibukan Goju Ryu Karate dojo. Is that next to the USAF "18th Air Wing" base?Your Chiishi looks kind of heavy.
HI jsmount, sorry late reply. Just seen your message. Yes, basically it's a
stick with a few nails around it, a can and harden cement. They vary in
weight but anything between 1/2 kg (for the little ones) to 4kg to 6kg and
various handle lengths. It works tendons and grip giving you 'inner'
strength and not muscles, if that makes sense. Fantastic exercise for
stance, punch, breathing and grip strength. Cheers, Fernando
It's not quite like kettle bells because both the weight is different and
so is the motion. You work your hands, arms and chest but not the big
muscles but the small core muscles and tendons. The move is short and
sharp, punching using your core not just your arms. It makes sense when you
try it. Great exercise. Give it a go :)
Hi Ali, Sorry late reply. Just seen your comment. Weights might vary,
depending on the length of the handle: the longer the more difficult of
course. Range between 2Kg and 6Kg, but don't fool yourself: this weighted
training helps strengthens the fingers, hands, tendons, arms, and chest.
Very good to develop inner core strength.
