Red Peters Song Snatch #27- "Swallow My Come" by Larry Pierce
Hello Music Lovers, What do you do when the band stops playing and it's time to go home? For some the answer can be a tough one to swallow! Learn how ...
Pat Boone - When the Swallows Come Back to Capistrano (1957)
Charted at #80 on Billboard chart in November 1957. B-side of "April Love" which charted at #1. This song had been #2 for the Glenn Miller Orchestra in 1940, ...
I had a music professor ('Fessor Floyd Graham) at the University of North
Texas tell our Music Appreciation class how he had put Pat Boone and Roy
Orbison (both UNT students in the 50's) in a quartet. Pat Boone comes back
to Denton, Texas (home of UNT) often and even sang the national anthem at
UNT's new football stadium (Apogee Stadium) on September 10, 2011, and
while even in his 70's still has the pipes. Still amazed how UNT had 2
pioneers of Rock & Roll on their campus at the same time.
On this day in 1957 {October 17th} Pat Boone performed "When the Swallows
Come Back to Capistrano" on his own ABC-TV program 'The Pat Boone Chevy
Showroom'... One month later on November 4th it entered Billboard's Top 100
chart for a three week stay, peaking at position #80... The record's
A-side, "April Love", fared a little bit better; for on December 16th it
reached #1 {for 6 weeks} on Billboard's Most Played by Jockeys chart and
spent exactly a half-year on the Top 100 {26 weeks}...
What a fabulous song...and singer!!! THX ever so much for the upload. What
a pity people in those days didn't think of getting these songs live on
film...!

SWALLOW THE SUN (feat. Aleah) - Heartstrings Shattering (Lyric video). Taken from the album "Songs from the North I, II & III". Century Media 2015. SWALLOW ...
+Orhun Dursun Yes it is :) , Taken from the album "Songs from the North I, II & III". Century Media 2015. this new one is trilogy, I sounds about this, part II is light/acoustic stuff etc. and III is doom/funeral without clean vocals that III one.
Damn I missed Swallow the Sun. Feels like it's been so long.. three years
ago, I was in highschool their last release. Definitely marked a place in
my life.
The sheer beauty of this song has brought tears to my eyes. Well done
Swallow the Sun. Keep this up and you might take Cattle Decapitation's spot
for album of the year
+Zane Smith I gave The Anthropocene Extinction a few listens I gotta admit it's quite a pleasant album. It sounds better than what I remembered of Cattle Decapitation actually.
+jjcb281 +Zane Smith well to be honest I've liked Mgla since their previous album yet I almost missed the release of Exercises in Futility. It's not extremely underground but we can't say it had any big promotion either.
+Zane Smith I didn't know Cattle Decapitation released an album this year, I haven't listened to that band in a while but I should give it a listen. Question though, have you listened to Amorphis and Mgla's releases? (they're the ones which hit me most for know, although A Forest of Stars and Wolfheart did very well also)
Only North is the only right direction anymore, all other directions lead
to death!!
This is definitely so perfect & perfectly only Swallow The Sun. Clear as
the first ice, pure as the first snow, a collision of sorrow and hope,
unique frailty and timeless power in the same line, inevitable darkness and
coldness into which we must dive again...but with music like this it's
easier and the journey will eventually lead into a new tomorrow...
2015 will definitely go down in history as one of the greatest years in
Finnish metal, now that we will also have this gigantic opus in our
hands...
Not entirely satisfied. The production is much lighter when compared to the
likes of Hope and New Moon, and the song itself reminds too much of the
style of Emerald Forest and the Blackbird, which was a very disappointing
album.
+TheScytheman666 I'm with you on this one mate. However we shouldn't comment yet on the production since YT uploads have nothing to do with the final production.
I don't think it's a similar production to emerald, this is seems exceptionally flat and dead though, particularly the drums and vocals. Really hope this isn't what the album will sound like...
+TheScytheman666 Really? I loved the last album. What did you not like about it? Just curious, because New Moon is my favourite besides Plague and Ghosts, but Hope... nope. I mean, it's great as everything from StS but no quite my taste. Cheers!
