Cities: Skylines Lets Play Part 2 ► Road Upgrading, Map Tiles and Garbage ◀ Gameplay / Tips
Cities: Skylines Lets Play Part 2 ▻ Road Upgrading, Map Tiles and Garbage ◁ Gameplay / Tips. A complete playthrough of Cities: Skylines showing you ...
1. Upgrading roads in this game is far better than ... the other one you
also play.
2. Is the traffic AI really better (you mentioned that they'll go down the
garbage street instead of necessarily going through the roundabout.
3. Do garbage trucks break the game like they do in SC? How many times
buildings have burned down because my fire engine was behind a garbage
truck, I can't even count.
4. The expansion to neighboring tiles is absolutely GENIUS. My biggest
complaint with SC was always the small city plots. Amazing!
+Crimson Cavalier The vehicles seem to ALWAYS take the shortest route to their target. With this in mind you can help to alleviate traffic volume on key routes. However, I do get pissed off when I see traffic in a traffic circle yielding to outside vehicles. If the right of way issues could be fixed, it would be the perfect city builder/traffic flow sim.vehicles do seem to go through delivery vehicles at times. Traffic basically ignores vehicles working on the road, so I don't believe the garbage trucks would block any traffic, including emergency vehicles. But I haven't seen that specifically, so I'm not sure.
+Crimson Cavalier So ...1 Agreed2 Hard to tell yet .. we'll have to see3 No because they pick up garbage as they drive past the buildings instead of stopping at each one4 Totally agree :)
In this Cities Skylines tutorial you shall learn all you need to know about roads intersections and traffic! We will be covering traffic management, road design and ...
great tutorial. Really entertaining! I never thought watching someone
playing a game could be that interesting. I still remember my SimCity 2000
days :) lol
+Mitchel Rieger actually I prefered Transport Tycoon (nowadays Open TTD) because of the bus and train management. Now +++ Cities: Skylines ++++.... has blown it all away. The perfect game.
+Sovereign Exile I did a lot of changes after watching this video. I kinda solved 50% of the congestion and my death rate dropped at least but I have no idea how to deal with a bunch of crossroads which are located near each other.
+SooFany It doesn't mean that you have roads with congestion, it might just mean that a lot of cars passby. If you do see cars building up in that specific road, try to see what you can change by following the video's advice.
@0:002 fuck man beautiful friends? What about us handsome boys? You only

+Danny Phan It's not that sort of game. You don't "win" city building games, so something like unlimited money doesn't matter. It's about giving you a chance to be creative. You CAN play the game with those restrictions, but nobody cares about how much money you made or how many people you have. What really stands out in a game like this is how interesting your city looks. The only thing money does is slow down when you can do things. Considering how easy it is to make money in this game, the infinite money option just allows you to get to the more interesting parts of the game sooner. But most importantly, it's a single player game so you can play it how you like. If you want to design your city using the money restrictions in the game, go right ahead. You'll notice from the comments, most people don't agree with your point of view though.
Even worse, because they aren't perfectly aligned, the zoning grid is riddled with holes. This can be a big problem for your use of space and land values. To fix that you'd have to create the center 4-way intersection, turn it into a T, then a L, then attach a mismatched road to the center point and demolish the rest. Then you demolish the original diagonals, rebuild the 4-way from the center out, and you can start building the grid outward from the center as he shows, without having zoning gaps from misaligned roads. But even if you use gravel roads for as much of those initial diagonals as possible, that's still a large cash outlay at the start of the game if you aren't using unlimited money or full unlock...
So I just stumbled on your channel and wow, I'm so glad that I did. Your
videos are on point, and I'm especially speaking about the quality (2K!) &
design (motion graphics galore!). There are tons of gaming channels out
there but your stands out by how ascetically pleasing it is! I love games
but do some design and video editing work, too, so I really appreciate what
you've got going here :) Keep it up, you just got a new subscriber!
+Paradox thanks! I was aiming for 4K recording but this game doesn't like any of my capturing software, 1440p is the max.I feel like my motion graphics have gotten a bit lazy, they used to be much more produced :D

Hi i saw your stream, you were talking about your new channels and that you
have a hard time growing as a youtuber. this is because you are playing
cities skylines, a very popular game, that is actually a big issue, because
bigger youtubers will play this game and have way higher ranking than you
on the search list. therfore if you want to grow you should play games that
big youtubers arent playing. lurk on the steam release page and look for
games that might have potential or play old and obscure low budget games. i
wanted to say this in chat, but i couldnt because i have no twitch account.
Hi! Thanks for watching the stream and taking the time to comment :) With this 2nd channel I dont mind too much as I am just doing it for fun- I will make videos that I enjoy. You make some very valid points though. If I dont grow then it isn't the end of the world. If I do, then it's just a nice bonus! :)

share youre geniality (?) with us..... COME BACK STRICTOASTER
In the beggining you sad that you had a mod to change the way the traffic
goes on a one lane road, this is not needed! Heres the way WITHOUT mods:
1: select the one way road type that you need to change (2 lane one way - 6
lane one way - highway - highway on/off ramps)
2: when you selected the road type select the option ROAD UPGRADE
3: now RIGHTclick on the road you want to give a different direction
4: watch traffic flow
+YoshiSimi you should check out some of TIMBOH's interchanges on the steam workshop. I've used a couple because im not creative enough with stuff like that. I don't like using a pure grid layout so being able to bring a few weird shaped districts together isn't so taxing on my patience lol
Why do people install mod to change the direction of the roads!? just
select w/e one way road allong with the upgrade road button, and then just
right click each road to change their direction. no mods required
