My problem with the Pillar Men isn't so much with their abilities as their dull personalities. They might have been cool in a fight, but I thought all of them were a step down from Dio in terms of entertainment. On the other hand, I completely agree that SDC has corrected that JoJo complaint, and that's something I'm loving about it so far (though it's certainly had other issues). Finally, in regard to the commentary, it's true that it was necessary for some fights, but I didn't care for moments like Speedwagon shouting out things that were already painfully obvious.

It was endearing to a point, but the commentary got to be too much for my tastes. Regardless, glad you liked it! I'll definitely be making more reviews, though I don't have any kind of schedule at the moment.

PelleK's lyrics aren't THAT different from the subbed translation; most of it is just re-worded. There's a difference between an adaptation and a translation--one is able to be sung, and one isn't, but both display the general gist of what the original language's lyrics are trying to portray. Just because he didn't mention "glistening sweat" in the song, or he said "burning up" instead of "fired up" (etc.) doesn't mean his English cover is automatically nothing like the "original". And just so you know, the translations we read in subbed episodes for these songs also had some liberties taken to make them sound like they make sense. If we just directly translated everything to make it sound like the original song, it would sound terrible. So unless you're some expert lyricist or are fluent in Japanese (or know someone who is), you don't know what the "original" lyrics are any more than most of us here. And criticizing his voice is another topic entirely--he wasn't trying to match the original singer's voice; he was singing how HE sings, and if you personally don't like that, that's fine, but your comment sounds like it's exaggerating how bad he is when it's really just your own personal taste of voice. Also, English isn't PelleK's first language.
