1.5 VVT-I has 108hp stock and the guy with the van should try to race my other car a Mitsubishi GT3000 VR-4 dual turbo all wheel drive all wheel steering with Aero package to keep it planted on the ground. 3.0 motor. but I still love my ECHO since it is light and I can put performance parts on it. I have had fast with the VR-4 and that was okay with 25mpg but my echo gets 35-40 mpg stock and it is fun also. you can't do 200mph on the highways here in california so I am going toward a car that is fun, you can do mods to and get great gas mileage. In a little car it seems faster since I am low to the ground and the sound of a dual overhead cam motor is like my KZ1000 cafe bike. I am done with top speed I just want to have fun. and for van guy"which I had a GMC safari with a 4.3l 215hp stock motor it was fast also. to bad they didn't make them like the typhoon and put duel turbo's on it. that would be awsome

so your minivan tops out at 210... with a 3.0 v-6 its probably some piece of crap chrysler or gm... both of whom are going out of business... and furthermore, why are you driving a minivan??? you a soccer mom? Doesn't help that you are more than likely some ignorant yankee that has never even seen an echo let alone are aware of the performance you can get out of one... fuck... "i smoked a chevy cobalt" Ive seen a firefly turbo smoke a cobalt so why dont you pipe down...

tell ur friend to add a 20 valves from japan (160 hp stock) add a turbo whit 32 lbs boost +exhaust ,manifold transmisiion lsr 6 speed = 310 hp +++ and u can also add another 20 valve in the back to make it AWD then u up to 515 hp ++ :) u need more detail e-mail me :)

Echos are cool i got mums u to 173kph on the highway, saw a black car on the road and hit the brakes, it was noone i could have gone more is a bummer cause never done it since. echo is a 03 1.3l stock!!! no lie got it recorded on a GPS

My Echo has about 135 Hp and tops out at 190 km/h (its got a governer) I take it on the highway to Vancouver and the thing just flys, I overtook a new dodge charger without any problems... its scary

sorry dude, typo. mine has the 1NZFTE engine. 1.5L it has more than 95hp for sure. I have not yet dynoed it, but I can assure you that it's definitely more than 95hp

My friends is turbo and makes 180 whp.....seems like a waste of a turbo for 10 whp increase over stock....could've got that with bolt ons and not had any lag....

5 passengers. Its the same shape as this one except its called a Yaris in Scotland. When i had it, it had the 1.0 VVT-i. I now have a corolla :)

I've got the same car but mine does 130bhp stock. It has got a 1.6L engine.

Its called a Yaris everywhere. The Yaris is a newer version of the Echo.
