But they are...However, I don't necessarily support a law requiring equal pay. The only way to determine a fair wage (for anyone) is if people have a choice not to work. There are plenty of political parties whose purpose is to promote the welfare of their national citizens. +David Archer I completely agree. The gap is average pay rate, but doesn't include any specific job types. It's the average that woman and men are paid across all fields of work. That includes jobs that are normally predominately woman, or predominately male. It just tells you that the jobs men go for pay better than the jobs woman go for, and not that women are paid less then men when doing the same job, although rare cases do happen and are dealt with. I'm just surprised this myth is still around.

If I hire two girls for $11/hr then during a boom period hire another girl for $15 and she is kinda lazy and then during the next recession hire another girl for $10/hr then I have 4 girls making different wages. You often can't find two people making the same money because even with the same job title they might have different responsibilities.

For example, prior to the experiment you could give one monkey the task of smoothing out it's rocks, while the other one is unaware and does nothing. Then, when you do the experiment, test to see whether or not the monkey with the not smooth rocks notices the difference in rocks and works to match the quality in order to receive the grape.

Then, during the experiment, when the monkey notices that the other one keeps getting grapes, you could see whether it begins to notice the difference between the rocks and whether it will smooth out it's rocks in order to receive the grapes.Dollars are just pieces of paper that we use to purchase goods. The rocks could even serve the role of dollars in this case. You could make grapes cost more rocks than cucumbers, teach the monkeys this association, and then give them tasks where they could earn more rocks to get more treats.
