H+ Episode 35: Query String
Northern California, USA - 3 years before it happened Kenneth has a dream and wakes with an insight that drives him to alert someone immediately.
Sorry for the long replies. But I think the writers have the respect for
their audience a) not to spoon feed them, and b) have enough respect for
religious belief AND modern views of science to leave the point unsettled.
What is interesting to me, is how they explain that science is, in its
present form, a modern religion. The vast majority of humans know little of
heat transfer or thermondynamics or molecular biology, but they beleive
what they are told on such subjects as a matter of faith
However, I will add that there is a bit of new agey-ness to the series that
causes trepidation. Fortunately, they have been pretty vague on this
aspect, so the viewer can interpret things as they will. I pray it remains
like that. It would cause me a lot of problems if the series suddenly
"pronounced" that Simona is some transhuman tech goddess, or that the
Vatican somehow caused the catastrophe out of fear for their position, or
whatever. I don't think the writers will go there, thankfully.
I think that's an interesting point. There is defintely a great deal of
juxtaposition going on between science and religion, even going to the
extent of claiming they are two sides of the same coin, to some degree. As
a devout Catholic and an engineer who works in a high-tech field, I
appreciate with both aspects of the series, and it gratifies me greatly
seeing priests running around in biretta and cassock. Were that more real
priests did so (they will, by the time this series is set in!)!
Non tech network = a human, natural capability to replicate the effects of
a network without technoligical devices. So, Simona can perform like a
wireless router but without the implant. She was never implanted. This is
confirmed in Ep. 36 extra material. Great, great point on Manta. I think
it's huge. There is something in these people that gave them special powers
when implanted. I think they may have had some of this natural capability
Simona has. Or are somehow connected beyond normal
But ep. 32 implies that there were multiple people that knew of the event,
that the soldier in the episode was a "child" when it happened (which could
mean up to 6 years prior) and be in line with the storyline and mean
Peters, Gurveer, and Breanna "peters" sheehan all might know. I just want
to know that she's not dead/or is due to the Event and know what's REALLY
happening, because if she's alive, then she may know, be in this with her
father, AND be waiting in Godshand for her child.
Regardless, the Dunbarra event isn't something Breanna acknowledges,
publicly she praises those endeavors. Still, I ponder her invovlement and,
I apologize, I meant to say "event" in my previous comment as the Dubarra
Event, not THE Event...that was confusing. I'm still very drawn into this
story and (despite next week not having and episode due to Thanksgiving)
will be waiting impatiently for 11/28! And I think I'm finally
understanding why Simona is important...that's exciting too.
No, the soldier was talking about a separate action, totally unrelated to
the "event." What he referred to was the LPW crew coming to Dunbara 10
years before the event with their prototype device, injecting the people,
and then everyone dying some unspecified time later. Then, the village was
burned and buried to conceal the evidence. Maybe LPW is a big head fake.
Peters is of course involved - one or both - and they started H+ as LPW
tech didn't work well. But maybe Simona is cause
Awesome. Really appreciate the extra episode! Hope the three a week thing
continues. So would this be considered a premonition? Because we know
Kenneth had one before he was kidnapped where he talked about chasing a kid
through the forest (who I'm guessing we'll eventually find out is Lee's kid
), but this was obviously from the past. Can something be a premonition if
it was something that already happened? Or was this simply a dream Kenneth
had because he had already met Simona?
Hey James, do you look at the extra material on the H+ The Digital Series
website? For Ep. 15, Manta is having her conversation with Topi about him
being an adventurer, climing Kiliminjaro, and she's looking at a piece of
paper that says "Dunbara have agree to our terms! Make your choice, choose
your loyalties, the boy's ideas are stupid!" That sort of blows some of my
theories, I think. Dunbara would have occurred 3 years before, how are they
involved? Wasn't the town destroyed?
Nice memory. I couldn't quite make out what he says in that episode but I
heard something along the lines of "Manta's....Italian holiday on her
base", so he does confirm she is in Italy, even at this point in the
timeline. Maybe it took that area of Italy longer to fall into chaos given
that it seems to be more of a rural place than a city (if someone knows
more about Oria feel free to correct me as I'm too lazy to research the
city). But yeah, we'll find out soon...or not, lol.
Normal H+ capabilities. We see Simona and Kenneth communicating not only
across vast distances, but also across time. Kenneth had terrible
premonitions and guilt after implantation. Manta can "see the future," and
knew that HER future was OK..which implies she knew it wouldn't be OK for
other people. Lots and lots of weirdness. So, is all this a leap in
evolution? Bizaare tech function? Or God communicting to people? I don't
know.
This "exploded view" type plot development is a bit stilted, but we're not
meant to see character development in a linear fashion. It's seeing what
made them become where they're at now in increments. Very intriguing
storytelling format that's underdone. And with this web formating, is being
done relatively well. I'm still wondering about Breanna, the african
children epidemic, who really knows what's going on and/or is lieing.
Either way, if this was real, it would seem Simona's ability was always
natural, whereas Kenneth's was triggered by his implantation with H + since
he didn't start having such visions until after he was implanted. Wonder if
that was intentional on his part since he had studied Simona before hand at
the laboratory with Dr. Patricio Riaz who had talked somewhat about humans
developing similar abilities without technology...
Lastly, are we to assume God's hand is in Oria, Italy then? Last episode
Dr. Gruveer said he wanted to take the child to Europe and we know that he
wants the child at God's Hand. If Kenneth automatically says he can lead
Sean Gunn's character to God's Hand after seeing this vision one might
assume it's there. After all, Lord Pearce Watcher does have a fairly
fortified building there too.
DID I just waste life watching that! Now they're just making video just to
make videos that look special... how about we get a plot twist, a character
development, not just cool looking shoots. The best episodes were 1-10 at
least you felt for the characters, try harder dammit or I'm unsubscribing.
Well, to be honest, I didn't really get that sense from this episode
particularly - but a certain amount of religiosity/spirituality has been
implied in previous episodes. I was just responding to Alex Peacock's
comment based on my inferrence drawn from those episodes.
How many months has this series been running? Three, four? Yet it still has
no discernible plot. Oh, by plot I don't mean "Commercial brain implant
wipes out half the world". That's not a plot, it's a setting. The plot and
story have yet to appear.
I think that this all will lead to one video or something like that
(something like a introduction to the "whats happening now" it might be in
the past and we just see the past and then eventually now , does this make
any sense? ) This is awesome
This doesn't really work at this length, or anything below about 5 minutes.
It seems to me like it's too much of an experiment. It's trying to mirror
how long people watch stuff for on YouTube. Sorry, Mr Singer, but it's
getting annoying...
I don't think it's the same place, because in the same conversation Gurveer
talks about Manta being in a practical paradise in her base, which I took
to be distinct from God's Hand. I suppose we'll find out, soon, only 6
weeks left?
Ooh...good point. Hadn't thought of that. I think there is more to his
installing H+ early than just being sure it's ok....whether he's part of
some non-technological network, I don't know
African children were almost all implanted with H+ as a health measure but
died with the event. Early video showed Breanna talking about their
"African youth health initiative....."
This series seems to be a parallel to the coming of Jesus in the Bible.
It's like scientists tried to make it happen instead of waiting on God.
They're playing God. I don't like it.
This is the best chapter so far just because that little girl seemed so
cute to me. And I´m hoping the whole thing gets to be understandable at the
end, so I keep watching...
WAY too much jumping around in this. How the fuck is anyone suppose to
follow the timeline. You have to piece everything together in your head.
This show fucking sucks.
so there are 3 theists in total in aprox. 12 years of timeline(both pro and
after event), and some symbolism in there, and its sudently pro-religious
anti-science?
Great idea, but this got boring ages ago. It's like Caprica all over again.
The episodes need to be longer and you've got to get to the point, Bryan!
I'm done.
Valeu pelas vídeo aula...
Vou acompanhar a serie para ver se aprendo um pouco mais de PHP.
