If I am not mistaken it is:
The daughter-in-law (tislith in kabyle) who is sewing not the grandmother.
The daughter-in-law is sewing and the grandmas is telling a story.
+PremiumZero We call it in Kabyle (Azetta). It is a traditional equipment used for sewing large bedding materials such as quilts and comforters. If you google "Azetta Kabyle" you will be able to see it. It a is a pretty neat technique.
The story is about a father who locks his daughter out of the house in the
dead of winter because she has 'shamed' the family by getting pregnant.
Hardly amusing.
If these are the cultural 'traditions' brought to Europe (and USA), it's
best that am'zer and arab alike remain on the south side of the lake....
You re in idiot. Its about an story with a girl a blind father and an monster. Shut your mouth if you dont have a freaking clue about someone's culture and story's.
+Will Lightman lol. it's a story about a little girl working all day for her old father and siblings. the song describs the discussion between the girl and her father when she comes back at night. you just didn't understand anything man.
Whoever translated this song for you, he is either a complete degenerate or a full time idiot. It has absolutely nothing to do with pregnancy and shame of any kind.Listen my friend this country has a culture and a history 10 times older than the United States of America. As old as the Greek and the Romans and as a matter of fact we are cousins with the Greeks genetically speaking and even on a cultural level, you can visit Greek villages and Kabyle (not just kabyle) villages you will see the same culture in both countries. So it's best to not say anything when you're ignorant, don't let your arrogance blind you because it can backfire at you and you will look like a real plonker.
This is an old tale from the Amazigh culture, and it has nothing to do with pregnancy, Shake your bracelets is the password between the daughter and the old man. Besides what do u know abt morale values huh ? half Americans dont know they real parents. the same the american dream first all abt moral values and untile it collapsed ..
Golden piece of advice for you, if you're ignorant already please please don't try to look so much like it, for it's kinda gross!!are you guys really getting along with this douchebag ??? Well, at least go learn go learn about us before speeking! Oh gosh what's happened to this planet, it's like everyday we're going more ignorant than the stone age or so !!!Great Love and Respect Algerian Bros from your Tunisian fellows, And may God bless all Muslims everywhere, AND all people with some worthwhile knowledge!!
Azul fellawen. This the Berber version of Red riding hood:The old grand-father refused to move out after his wife passed away, he lives in a lonely house , in the heart of a forest, thus his grand-daughter (Ghriba) has to come every morning to bring him food and clean up the house. Since he's enable to stand up and open the door , and that there's an ogre living in that forest, his family built him a really strong door which he would only open (by holding a long cord) to they little 'password' ,that is the hook of this song:-Open the door ,O father Inouba-let your bracelets shake , Oh daughter Ghriba. The hungry ogre found out about this secret code and tried it the first day after. The grand father recognized his deep voice and refused to open the door. The monster asked for advice from the evil wizard , he told him to eat some honey, lay on the ground and let the ants refine his vocal cords, and so he did. the next day , he sang with a sweet voice the secret code, still, he had no bracelets, the third day he had it hall perfect, the poor grand-father opened the door , and was eaten by the ogre. When Ghriba came to look after Inouba , the monster still had the little girl's voice and she saw some blood running from under the door. She was a smart girls and returned to the town warning all the peasantry who took their weapons and fire torches and burned the ogre.So.. what were you saying? As tunisians, we are very proud of our cultural heritage which is full of morals. From this tale we learn love (despite the risks and tire , Ghriba went every day to take care of her hopeless grand-father) respect (they respected his decision of staying in his marital house), and union (when the whole town reunited, they succeded to kill the monster who scared people for decades)....
i am the one who translated the song, it has nothing to do about pregnancy and shame, actually the whole song story is inspired from a very old Berber tale called "azul hyder" (careful : Berber people are called Berbers not "Barbarian", they are the native north african people {mainly Tunisia and Algeria)) Long story short, it's about a blind grand father who is trying to protect his young daughter from an ogre who want to eat her, not to have sex with her <_<It's very hard to find result for the story in english, try google it in french if you can, otherwise stop being so ignorant. PS :north Africa is not the middle east, we do have people who are completely paranoid from sex (just like many religious family do in the rest of the world) but we also have a total different culture too, in fact the only thing that we don't have compared to europe and U.S is a powerful economy but the people are pretty much the same. Pharrell Williams - Happy ( WE ARE FROM BIZERTA )
haha... you are stupid... this is not real story...it is a tale !
