I have to agree with you. I was excited about this because I hate to wash
my brushes, and anything that is going to make it easier and faster is
great. But I was so disappointed when I saw the price. I feel Sigma is
moving away from what they were known and loved for. Being customer
friendly with reasonable prices. some one suggested a puppy washing mitt
from a big pet store, and you know what? I worked great! I'm sure it is not
as good as the Sigma one, but it works. I think it was $12.
I really hope that Sigma has been seeing EVERYONE'S comments about the
steep pricing on all their stuff especially this brush cleaner. I
personally would buy it if it were half the price. I just noticed on
MakeupByTiffany's recent video that a sub asked if she can get a better
discount code from Sigma because 10% isn't enough now that all their new
products cost so much. Tiffany said she will try because she would love
that for us. I hope that happens :)
I like your review. :) everyone who is logical and thinks of other things
in the world I think would not pay $40 for a mitt like this. There are many
cleaning supplies and accessories that have those nubs for only a couple of
dollars available in any store that carry cleaning supplies so why pay $40
plus more for getting it shipped to you? Plus using your hands isn't that
bad and it's free. Lol. Idk it's such a gimmick. We lived fine without it.
I love your review Lisa. I think you gave a fair and honest opinion
compared to other gurus. I feel Wayne's review was too harsh and Emily's
was OTT. Yes it is expensive and it is up to each individual's choice to
purchase it. If not enough people buy it Sigma will eventually reduce the
price. Personally I think it is very functional and would love to have it
if not for the price tag. Soon dupes will be everywhere I hope:)
Sigma shipping costs in general - they kill me! As an avid Amazon Prime
member/purchaser, I have a really hard time forking over $8 to ship a
$10-20 make up brush. I wish they had free shipping deals every once in a
while. When I bought my brush kit, I didn't mind the shipping - but they
come out with new stuff all the time that I want to try, and I just can't
justify the shipping each time.
Thanks Lisa for your honest review. I totally agree with you about the
price. The price Sigma put on this is so stupidly overpriced it annoys me!
They are really taking advantage with their customers on this product.
Their cost to create this must be extremely low, and you can get similar
oven gloves for a fraction of the price! You gained even more respect from
me for your honesty here.
There is a similar mitten at Petsmart/Petco for 1/4 the price, they sell it
with a cat or dog face, but it has similar texture. So there are similar
products out there, but they just use them for other purposes. With a
little imagination and creativity you can avoid the $40. I bet in a month
you will be able to find a similar tool at the dollar stores.
I'm glad you did a review. I trust your opinion better than the "sigma
partners" or whatever they are called. I would buy one of those gloves in a
heartbeat if it cost $19.99 and had free shipping. I really dislike sigma's
pricing and shipping. I'd rather pay more for brushes at Sephora. That
brush was probably only included for the YouTuber samples.
I thought about buying this and then I went to target and saw a cute soap
dish that had the same ridges as the wash part of the glove and another
that had the same rinse ridges so I bought the soap dishes it's cool yeah
but I think it could easily be duped and it's only going to be a matter of
time before another company makes something like it.
Great review Lisa, thanks for doing this. I heard two reviews before yours:
one pro, one against. Wayne said it was an oven mitt, and Tiffany raved on
it. I agreed with both sides and it is a cool concept. So, I ordered a
silicone ribbed mitt from ebay at $15 and am happy with that! Thank you
Lisa!
This is way too expensive when you can go to anyplace that sells kitchen
supplies and get a rubber or silicone glove to accomplish the same thing.
Also, I bought a rubber glove with small bristle like materials and ridges
at pet smart for our dog, that could literally do the same thing for $5.
Get over it!! There are face creams and beauty products for well over $100!
And for all those "judging" about those buying maybe u buy a $3 cup of
coffee every day which is over the price of this glove in so many weeks...
All of the Western World meeds a reality check!"
Sigma used to be a nice option for the prices and good communication with
the clients. They lost both. The brushes are not amazing, you can buy very
similar in china for much less now. And except for the F80 I won't buy
anything there. This oven glove is a joke.
I am so over Sigma everything from them is overpriced even their brushes I
ordered a brush a while back and the ferrel of the brush came off I made no
big deal I just glued it back together but it shows you the quality is no
better than a cheaper end brush
Thanks for the review but I think Sigma has lost a client... they are
higher prices and shipping is crazy. Instead of giving a 10% code they
should lower their prices 10% and have a shipping promo every once in a
while. Thanks for your honest review.
The brush guard has cleaning system with a cup that has ridges on the
bottom. And towel and soap and multi pack of guards for $25 which I love
gets my white brushes white again lol. I think sig,a is digging there self
a hole with there new prices
Every time I'm tempted to buy an overpriced sigma item I think to myself I
am paying for all the free crap they send to beauty bloggers. Then I don't
buy it. I have a kitchen glove that's just as good. I will thank sigma for
the idea though.
#Fail on the price Sigma! Innovative idea but the price imo is unbelievably
expensive. I think i'll just take that idea and get myself a plastic/rubber
materialized oven mitt and work it out. *If i need it before the dupes come
out.
99c was the cheapest, then 5,99 and a normal oven glove I got at Bed Bath &
Beyond worked exactly the same. However the brush cleaner that professional
artists use cost 99c and I have a link to where you can purchase it.
There are gloves just like it for a fraction of the cost in both the
cooking section & the dog section of many stores....so there are products
out there exactly like it...just way cheaper & used for different things.
I really enjoy your videos Lisa. Thanks for doing a great job :) In my
opinion this is just yet another gadget for Sigma to try to make money off.
Honestly I think it's a total waste of money to purchase this.
Literally, just Google "textured silicone oven mitt" and it's almost the
exact same thing. They also have similar textured pot holders for very
cheap at Marshall's, Target, Amazon, etc. It's all the same thing.
I a normal cleaning glove, the palm side of the glove has ridges on it. It
works well but I mainly use it because I don't want my hand and nails to
dry out from all the water. This thing is so overpriced :D
i don't like this glove, it really does like a oven glove. i prefer to wash
my brushes as i always have waashed my brushes. i can not image holding
this and my brushes and using water. over priced too.
This might sound funny, but I went to Walmart and got a silicone "pot pad"
with bumps in the color blue. I got it at the kitchen section for $4.50…and
it works! Make cleaning my brushes easier. =)
