@BUweB I tend to agree ... not many outstanding songs ... apart maybe from
Netherlands, Norway, Belgium (which did not at all deserved such a shameful
last place and the "sad honor" by the gay community to award everyone who
has the worst outfit in Eurovision ...what for?? It's a song contest not a
fashion show!) and finally Portugal. Ireland and UK are the least
favourites for me ... Oh and I almost forgot I loved France :)
12 puntos!
@oOMissCOo In 2009 wint Noorwegen, wordt IJsland 2e, Verenigd Koninkrijk 5e
en Frankrijk netjes 8e. Vorig jaar won Duitsland, werd Denemarken 4e en
notabene België 6e. Hoezo vriendjespolitiek? Hoezo Oostblok 'koopt' een
goede score? Sinds de invoering van juries in 2009 is het songfestival weer
een beetje zoals in....1993. Nu moet alleen Nederland maar weer eens ECHT
een goed nummer sturen en ophouden met zeiken.
Awsome song the Netherlands during the 90s really had amazing songs: the
ballad from Maywood in 90, the soulful dancy tune from 92, this one and
later in 96 (what a sweer duo) and of course the amazing Edsilia. What a
decade for this country. Edisilia should have been a winner in 98. And this
was one was way better than ireland back then LOL
@94ayd I will disagree ... 93 was not the strongest one ... there were far
more amazing and stronger songs in 1991 and 1996 ...but I guess that
depends on our own personal tastes. Still Netherlands Norway and Belgium
had some of the best ones this year.
I love this and also Edsilia's song from 1998. I think they were both
written by the same people? On the night I thought Niamh Kavanagh was the
best and deserved to win but I certainly believe this should have come
second and not that awful Sonia song!
@BUweB Alla mina tankar it was the very last song performed that night ...
it was particulary different from all the others ... you either loved it
and felt moved by it ... or you hate it because it meant anything at all
for you ...
This is one of the best songs ever from Netherlands - along with Edsilia in
1998. Superb performer but whoever was in charge of the stage lighting
should have been shot! At times she completely disappears from view -
duh!!!!!!
Netherlands delivered in 92 and 93 two awsome soul pop inspired songs. This
one is particular was incredibly groovy and for me alongside Norway (2
absolutely different songs) were the best entries this year.
@94ayd Ha, funny how opinions differ - I thought this was one of the worst
years of the 90s. But this was a great song. This, 'hombres' and Niamh were
about the only ones worth listening to, I think
@bowtown Yeahh excessive green lights shattered her completely .... the
stage was quite nice but this is was insane to watch even for me too much
light was too much for my sight
@BUweB I am torn between this one and the originality of Norway ... either
one of the other should have won. Why Ireland won is beyond my understanding
Songfestival 1993, Ireland, 92 points, 6th position, titel: Peace. With
translation, nice! Great lyrics with meaning that is still actual and sad
to say it will remain that way. I loved that song then, was jumping in the
room with Ruth Jacott on tv, and I still like it very much. Love you Ruth!
And this year we have Trijntje Oosterhuis with lyrics that do not need
translation in any language. :(
