+Carol Van Pala Yes Most of them are. Personally I do not like riding with bits on Trail rides but for really long trail rides most people like to use bits for more control. My horse luna has to use a bit because she does not respond without one. I would say something about them using bits but they look like they are great riders that know that a horses mouth isn't a toy, they are not pulling on the horses mouth at all so I think it's ok.
