POD HD Desktop Multi-Effect Overview | Line 6
Learn more about POD HD at //line6.com/podhd/desktop/ POD HD represents a giant leap forward for home recording. It is the only desktop multi-effect to ...
you can use these with any electric , passive or active, playing with a
battery i'm sure wouldn't be a good idea for this I can imagine all the IC
chips and all require a lot of power. But they are excellent to plug into
an existing amp like autotune , it should work on most DAW (digital audio
work stations) , I found the best use was to fix the sound before it hits
the amp and just makes touring much easier. I am yet to try the HD but the
only thing bad I can say about the XT is the clean channel was really bad
on it. The engl powerball simulation was really good though, the JCM800 and
the Bogner Uberschall was hands down a favorite, there was also a 5150
Peavey.
No thanks, I will just stick with my POD X3 LIVE. It was the only product
ever that let you play Bass, Guitar, or Sing (or any pairing of 2 or the
3). Line 6 has kind of treated Bassists as an afterthought with all of
their other products. Lowdown doesn't have enough variety in any of it's
different versions, and they discontinued the Bass Variax models (Line 6
needs to bring them back in Original Variax Bass, and James Tyler versions,
BOTH with Variax Workbench editing capability)
@spyroszarzonis FYI, without some serious modifications to your wah pedal,
you won't be able to control the wah (or any other) effect that's built
into the Pod hardware. Your wah will still act as it's own independent
filter effect. The FBV will let you control just about any parameter on
most effects that are in the Pod hardware (wah, volume, distortion level,
pitch bending etc.) - it just depends on how you set things up.
Ok, so let me get this straight, I play play this through an amp, which I
understand, I can record with this and everything else, BUT, can I just
plug some headphones into this, and plug my guitar in and play that way?
And will doing such, give me a good tone? I do that with my Line 6 Spider
III 75w because I live in a small place with crabby neighbors and playing
through headphones REALLY cuts the tone out. Thanks!
Question. I have the podxt and love it. I plug it into my PC for demos.
But, a few models including the tweed bassman model has a fatal flaw. There
seems to be some weird octave frequency happening, If you listen carefully
you can hear a different octave ringing. Does this happen on the POD HD? I
am considering the PODX3 or the POD HD, any kind of advice would help,
thanks.
As far as I can tell, yes this is an interface. It surely isnt an excellent
one as a professional quality one is about $300 per channel. However thats
to be expected, most interfaces dont have tons of high quality guitar amp
models. If your using this specifically for your guitar sound then great
but if your using it to mic up a tube amp then there are better options.
After using mine for about 3 months now, I have to say that this is the
coolest sounding unit Line 6 has ever come out with and I highly recommend
it. It is capable of so many amazing tones and you can put together sounds
for any type of music that will have listeners asking what kind of guitar
rig you used on the recording...just awesome! Thank you Line 6!
@barbocovers Hi, if you get a chance check out the POD HD Story, where we
discuss the choice of the 16 amps. We wanted to focus on making those amps
spectacular. Good news is at Musikmesse we announced that we will be adding
some additional amp models based on those 16 amps. Check out the Line6 site
for more information towards the end of the month. Thanks!
@spyroszarzonis Foot switch yes. Expression pedal, no because the UX2 only
supports foot switch jacks. You'll need to upgrade to the KB37 if you want
to use an expression pedal. You can however purchase an FBV Express MkII or
FBV Shortboard MkII and connect it to your computer via USB to control the
volume and wahs inside POD Farm.
@Comp3630 you may be hearing what people refer to as "ghost notes". Believe
it or not, this was modeled based off of what we heard in the real amps.
The HD PODs capture the real feel and response of the amps we modeled and
sometimes these artifacts can be present. If it was in the real amp, we
modeled it.
@line6movies Does the fact that the v1.3 firmware has 6 more models mean
that the POD HD series may eventually have many of the 78 models that the
PODxt and POD X3 had? The vast majority of amp models that I use on my
PODxt Live are not included in the POD HD, thus keeping me from buying any
HD model.
weird question: can i control a pod hd desktop with a pod hd 500x acting as
as a fbv board? signal path: guitar -> 500x ->Bean (effects loop) -> 500x
out to soundcard. yes, i like to fiddle alot with effects and weird signal
paths, expecially multiple reverbs and echos in stereo. thanks in advance.
@mindseye2007 yes to all of your questions. It uses ASIO and Core Audio
drivers which makes it compatible with most major recording applications.
You can also route audio out of its analog or SPDIF outputs to another 3rd
party audio interface.
