Planning to work in China? Thinking of teaching English in China? Watch this video in order to learn more about it. I'll answer some questions that you may have ...
+Sofie Lolli Pedersen I don't want to mention the companies I worked for by name, but I can tell you that I found some good jobs on eslteachersboard.com and daveseslcafe.com. Good luck, and by all means, if you have any more questions, don't hesitate. :)
hi, I would like to know if online degrees are recognized in the world of
telf...... For example, if u had an online degree in any disicipline, plus
a tefl certificate, will that be recognized in China?
+Milka Mana Good question. I honestly don't know about that one. It would be worth asking. Just tell the school up front about your condition. Chinese jobs will often reply to you quickly---give it a shot and please let me know what you hear!
Do they do thorough background checks? If I tell them I have a degree, are
they going to call the school to verify it or will they take my word for
it?
+Ron Burgandy In the past they didn't do very thorough background checks on degrees. I doubt they do, to be honest. I think they'd take your word for it, but you'll need to show them the actual degree.
+David Bennington Social norms in China? Well, yeah... I'd say just watch a lot of videos about China from vloggers here on youtube and you'll get a feel for it.. or you can just go there and learn it from experience. You do have to assert yourself in China though, that's one thing I should tell you. If you don't put yourself first, you'll very often be last. It's a very exciting, interesting place though! Go for it!

i have 2 German shepherd/lab mixes and they are sisters. they are about 9
years old. they chew when left alone and have just stopped jumping. All
their lives we've tried to get them to play with toys and they refuse. the
only thing they "play with" is the bones they can chew and destroy. we have
to lock them in a kennel all day while we are at work or school, but we try
to let them run our yard (1 acre) with remote controlled shock collars so
they have a lot of freedom. We went about 3 days of letting them in a room
at night but they began showing of things in the room. Anyway, we have
tried to get them to play with toys, tennis balls, or the KONG, but they
don't care about them. how can I get them to play with toys? they will
chase me, but when I do ANYTHING with a toy, they lose interest. What can I
do?
+mega mike I've had two labs and they liked to carry sticks. Sometimes they'd drop a heavy stick on my foot - not good. However, a thick or braided rope can make a nice substitute. Lots of pet stores will let you bring you dog in to try the toys.
I forgot to mention we let them outside 2-4 times per day into a 15' by 10' fenced in area. They ARE NOT locked in the kennel all day but are in there for approximately 13-18 hours depending on our day. which is why we try to get them running as much as possible. in the near future we have our schedules one up so they will be running more with us. but my original questions still stands. if they refuse to play with toys, is there a way for me to get them to play? or at least play fetch or something?
How does playing fetch stop a dog from destroying the house,
My dog has to stay at home all day and she chews the walls to get out we
think she tries to bark at the birds outside but we have out up jets and an
owl to scare them away but they keep coming back what do we do?........
+Jaime Emily As said in the video, most of the reasons why dogs have destructive behavior is either separation anxiety or not enough physical and mental stimulation. If they are exhausted, they wont chew, dig, destroy, etc out of boredom and they will happily take a nap, settle, sleep, etc. You can also desensitize your dog from sounds, etc so that he gradually ignores them. You can also crate train the dog so that theres no way for the dog to destroy the house in the first place. You could be giving the dog too much freedom to fast depending on how old the dog is and how long youve had him for
+PaoPaoTheCat I have an older dog that doesn't seem to like any toy to play with, until I found just the right sized soft toy for him. I suggest you try different kinds of toys and let your dog tell you what he likes. It might be the scent, it might be the color, it might be the way it's stuffed.
Hi Zak, my name is Ezequiel, I have trying everything, nothing worked, your
way is working, but.....I made a mistake, my Labrador now is 11 weeks
old,I use to bit him in the face, not hard, when he bites me, now when
I raise my hand to say stop, he gets aggressive.....any help?
+Pitche Gueu You can hold a treat the dog like in a fist and slowly lower it with the food to encourage him to not view it as something that brings pain. You should never hit or physically punish a dog. Its not that it usually hurts, but it can emotionally harm your pup. So even if it doesnt hurt, the pup will feel confused, sad, etc. Make sure the puppy knows that you have a treat in your hand. He will slowly associate positive things with it, but i would suggest to stop using the hand signal if possible. Since he is young, he may gradually phase out of it if you dont ever do that again. Please try to be more positive with the puppy. He is still so young. Try to get the pup to associate your hand with treats, play, etc. My grandpa used to do this and it took a long time to get the dog used to him again without getting aggressive or flinching. :/ Puppies are fragile and are basically babies. You wouldnt hit a 1 yr old kid, right? (ps: Please dont take offense, i dont mean it in a mean way)
Hey Zak....well it seems like my pup is going backwards in training. I
used your tips and she started to bring the ball back....now she fetches
the ball, then just drops it and goes off sniffing. I've tried using the
clicker without treats and that doesn't really work. I've tried making the
ball enticing to pick back up and return as you suggested with no
results. At times she'll even go spastic running around like crazy!!! I go
after her and call her name, but she just keeps running all
around....eventually she'll stop and then I can grab her. She's 9 months
old and my veterinarian says she's a lab/border colie mix. So, the collie
part makes sense! Because of this, I'm tempted to return her back to the
shelter....I'm so frustrated with that wildness of hers and her not
listening to me. I would like to take her to the park or go hiking off
leash, but with her behavior that isn't going to be possible. I had
a yellow lab/german shepherd who LOVED to play fetch. He got so excited
over the ball and sticks and he would always bring them back to me. So....I
don't know what to do with this one I have now?? Can you please
give suggestions or post a video about how to stop this kind of wild
behavior? I would really appreciate it as I really need help and I'm about
to give up on her! Thank you.
+John Smith It sounds like you chase the pup as soon as they get the ball or toy. Put the pup on a long leash (30-50 ft) and after the pup gets the toy, say come here and encourage pup to come towards you. Never chase the pup or they will play keep away and eventually always run away from you. Don't give up and dont compare other pups to prior ones. Each pup is an individual with different personalities, etc.when you get the pup to you, even if you have to tug the pup towards you, give tons of praise and play a little tug before throwing again. If the pup is really food oriented, you can give the pup a small treat when he/she comes to you. Then slowly faze out the treat for only play. Please dont give up. As mentioned in the video, it only takes time, patience and practice to get a dog to love fetch. They also learn at different speeds. Good luck! I taught my friends dog to play fetch and it took some time since prior to that, my friend would always chase the dog.
My dog has it almost has it all down. There's just one thing that he
doesn't do. I'll throw it, he'll pick it up, and come back. But one thing.
He leaves the toy. He'll go run for it and I'll call him, and he'll drop
the toy and run back to me. Anyone have suggestions on how to get him to
bring the toy back to me?
Give like a keyword for the toy or movement and try to make it more obvious that you want to play with the toy so be more peppy too.
Teaching Swear Words to Japanese People
Warning* This video contains a ridiculous amount of swear words, for genuinely educational purposes.* GET SPEAKING WITH A JAPANESE PERSON! (iTalki): ...
I should never be allowed to be an English teacher in Japan lmaoThen again, if you can't actually speak Japanese, you can't really teachOr do pretty much any other job
+Abroadin Japan I've been watching many of your videos. May I say, very
entertaining. But most of all thank you for introducing me to the song
Sukiyaki by Kyu Sakamoto- it's my favorite song this week. I think it would
be great if you did a video on Japanese music.
+Saint Christopher I\'m not sure but ,if anyone else trying to find out how to learn to speak japanese try Pycanta Simple Japanese Protocol (just google it ) ? Ive heard some decent things about it and my mate got amazing results with it.
+Mariève Ward According to Chris she was, but he gave her post-it notes for white day and now they're not, I guess. In his video, "Visiting Japan: 5 Reasons Why It'll Be Awesome", he mentions it in the comments.

+Elizabeth Guerrero Yes, but you have someone to split rent with. I can't afford $750 on a teacher's salary for a 1-bedroom. I found one for $649 but I'm nervous about that too. I might have to get a second job just to afford to live by myself. I feel like an adult with a full-time, professional job shouldn't have to have a roommate her whole life just because she decided to teach. I'm not interested in a relationship. Does that mean I have no right to my own home?
Oh I know it's not easy. I'm working on my degree now and I'm on the side with this video. I don't like the pay teachers get. They deserve a hell of a lot more, but just cause they get little (or not as much) doesn't mean they can't get a good living out of it. They just have more limits. For example high rent. I'm working at a fast food place right now (only for now..) and me and my boyfriend are paying $750 for a beautiful 1BR with our 1yr old son. $850-$950 for a 2BR. I guess it depends where you live.
+WS Warthog I think he's trying to say that he can motivate a student to see getting an A- as not being good enough, because the student can do better. And he also says he can make a C+ feel like a Congressional Medal of Honor, which might be taken to mean he can motivate a student to see what s/he has accomplished in doing an assignment, rather than in focusing on the "ranking" nature of the C (higher than a D, but lower than a B or A, etc.). Context, man.
+WS Warthog I don't think that is what he is saying, I believe that he is talking about how if a student gets an A- why could he/she not got that extra step and get an A or even an A+, the A- is the slap because it was so close to being perfect that just means you didn't give it your all
+DubbidubzI've worked as a teacher, a lot of what this guy says is nonsense. You can't simply project your authority onto a child or manipulatively express "disappointment" and expect them to click their heels together and give you their very best. If you make an A- feel "like a slap in the face", well congrats you've turned an A- student into a C student because the easiest way not to get slapped in the face is to induce low expectations in others. (Competent) teachers are socially very important but the way this guy talks about it makes it sound very much like he's never worked as a teacher. To be fair, I taught in one of Britain's 10 poorest towns (won't say which, naturally :P).
Teachers deserve to have shit pay.
This is what happens when you want to be unionized. You make the
'higher-up' bureaucrats look good while you make the children suffer with
your tedious assignments and standardized exams.
+JEKAJACACertainly not by your precious k-12 education institutions.Try harder, apologist. We all know your precious education system is falling due to bureaucratic greed.
Dimebag, you're either a little kid or an adult who didn't develop. After you grow up a little, come back and give your 2 cents worth. But your remarks display a bottomless pit of ignorance.
You guys are griping about teachers like they are the ones who create the standardized exams. FYI it is teachers and, yes, unions, who fight against unnecessary standardized exams because they understand that a bubble dot test can never demonstrate the potential or skill mastery (other than filling in dots) of a child. Check out your state laws. Ask which groups support mandated testing (often provided by for-profit companies that conveniently sell the curriculum and the test). And then ask what side your teacher unions are on. Guaranteed, no matter what the state, they sure as heck aren't in favor of the for-profit test guys. They are in favor of learning and doing in a classroom, if only they didn't have to spend so many days in class dedicated to prepping for the stupid test that will supposedly measure both the child and their teacher. Teachers are all for being held accountable, but are generally opposed to high stakes testing that doesn't demonstrate what a child can actually do.
+Rae RuizYeah, sure they have. After-school tutoring just so they can pass exams does not constitute as actual learning. Its nothing more than glorified memorization. Moreover, if educators were serious about 'doing something' to change the education system, they would actually attempt to make real changes, neglect their wages, and actually value electives. Instead keep being the bureaucratic scum they are.The minute educators care about money, the system has already failed and beyond the scope of repair.
