Video #621: Today is a general tour. But if there's interest, I can do future videos on the individual zones. Let me know where to start... More Info: ...
+conversequeen64 Polymer clay does not really "dry up", but it does become unconditioned. you need to "wake up" the elascticity and maleability of the clay but conditioning it. knead it in your hands, run it through pasta machine several times, work it until it becomes pliable, then let it rest for several hours. there are also things you can add to clay to recondition it or make it softer but I know nothing about them. I have, however, become so frustrating when trying to condition crumbly clay, that I have given up and chucked it. not because I thought it was ruined, but because it wasn't worth the hassle of working to condition it. I just bought another block.
Huh. I still feel like my clay gets so hard when i don't wrap it up, but I usually use Sculpey. Will try Premo and Souffle to see if they stay soft longer! Thanks for answering my question!
You've done great with a small space. I work at the kitchen table right now
but soon I will be able to set up in my work space/office. As a romance
writer and a crafter I want to have both spaces in one room. BTW- love your
"I love Mom" door hanger!
+PolymerClayTutor Tell her it's very cute and the love it was made with is all that counts. :) It's nice to have those small reminders of days past. I still put things my girls made in preschool on our Christmas tree.
+Calisa Selfridge My daughter made that for me in grade 4 or 5. She was embarrassed to give it to me because it wasn't up to her level of creativity. I hung it there on the door and it never left. She's 18 now and it is nice reminder that she loves me.
Oh - we caught you in your socks!!LOL. And what is that around your neck
-a new tute??. Love your room, it is cram packed with goodies. Lots of
ideas for more organization. I have a 10" closet full of stuff I can't get
in my room ......grin. All I have to do is open the sliders , and there it
is. My room is 8x10 ( small) but it will do
+Patt Word I'm always in socks in the house (or slippers when it cold). In Canada most people take their shoes off in the house. Most of the kid's Asian friends even leave their shoes outside on the porch if it is protected. I have noticed that in the States most people left left their shoes on. Every culture does things a little different. As far as the necklace goes, that was made from an old tutorial called the Parrot Tulip Bead tutorial. +g3min1969 I got it at a liquidation store. It works great for the low temps of polymer clay but the one I put in my kitchen melted... probably the reason it was at the liquidation outlet!
Hi Cindy, great tour of a great space. My work area is my spare room which
is also a guest room and my office (in the closet!) so everything is in
cupboards. But I did get some useful tips from this video. I'm curious
about one thing.. What do you use the tumbler for and how often do you use
it? I've been thinking of getting one for my metal clay but was unaware it
could be used for polymer too! Thanks for the tour. ☺
HI there :) I have a question, I bake my polymer premium clay for an hour
,, it doesn't burn or destroy the color at all, but it isn't real strong..
it will break.. and doesn't have much flexibility at all... it is a dry
climate here though. Idk what I'm doing wrong. I bake my clay with a stone
on the bottom then a cookie sheet with a tile on it and them cover the clay
with thick foil..
+Jennifer A Shepherd LOL I just saw some footage of the British Open in Scotland and a couple of the days were pretty miserable! Sure is pretty and green though... the rain being the price to pay for the beauty. Can usually relate being from British Columbia Canada, but lately we have hit a dry spell and everything is yellow and there are tons of forest fires. We'd love to have your rain... if you'd send us some! :)

Wow. I have not made a cane yet as I am new to polymer clay. I have lots of
tools and lots of clay, I just need the know how on these types of things.
I am going to look for those discs. I want to thank you for your
informational "classes" they are very helpful to us new clayers and us old
ladies. Never to old to learn!
Linda
+Linda Ketner Agreed! I try and learn something new everyday. Even if it is some tiny thing like a new word or something. Its good for the brain and makes you a more interesting person!
Testing Americana Chalky Paint On Polymer Clay
Video #704: So far so good... my tests with this products applied to Premo Sculpey are positive. No compatibility issues at all... More Info: ...
Hi Cindy... I was watching the video for the bookmark and I wonder how can
I buy it, or see it, don't know how this works hehehe... I would love to
make some ☺
+PichiMagic Thank you! :) Here is the link to more info on the tutorial: //www.beadsandbeading.com/blog/hammered-copper-bookmarks-polymer-clay-tutorial-video/13507/#video
+Buttered Lumps That depends... if you use it to antique a piece like I did and it is sitting in crevices... then no. If it is in an area that might be affected by dirt and oil or will get a lot of scratching on it, then yes. Any polymer clay compatible finish should work fine for protecting this finish, should it need it.
I love owls and I love winter; it was an inevitable combination! A frosty owl roaming the starry night skies, sprinkling snow over the forest canopy. :) Please rate ...
What a totally stunning piece of art/jewelry! I love that your tutorials
are clean, concise, close-up and easy to follow--and not "talky." I am
inspired to really attempt polymer clay art, thanks to you. Thank you for
sharing your skills to others. Happy Holidays.
+Martha Gartsman That's great to hear Martha, thanks so much for your kind words. I'd love to see your work, if you're willing to share. :) Thank you! X
Just found and subbed you. This is so fucking beautiful!!! It's incredible
what you make and the other video....omg the lil bat has such personality.
Great work Doll
I just made my own little owl, it's kinda like a mix between the owl in
this video and your owl Journal cover, because it is a side view of the owl
but it's flying over the ocean, the pearl dust (that's what mine is called)
gave a very cool affect over the black, thanks for all the great videos!
Hi! Love this! I use future acrylic floor finish mostly, to chicken to try
anything else but wanting more gloss on my Christmas ornaments I'm making.
One question (I do my work in my kitchen and have a baby in the house) the
odor... is the minwax really strong? I'm afraid it would be.
Hi +Angela Long yeah the smell is pretty strong. Not so bad if you only do one piece but if you were to do a whole rack of them, it might smell up your kitchen and may not be good for the baby. Use the water based one instead.
+MJTUEN This tutorial is currently priced at $9.95 USD but the price will be going up in a few months when our new web store is ready. For more info on this tutorial go here: //www.beadvideos.com/back-issues-03/vol-071/
