Tutorial - Bucking Modification for R-hop™ or "flat hop"
https://sites.google.com/site/hsarmory/ A quick overview of a preferred method for removing the mound and alignment ridge off a hop up bucking. This technique ...
Some people certainly do. I personally don't and don't recommend it because I find it more difficult to do correctly and carries a higher risk of cutting through. YMMV
Just throwing it out there for those who haven't used them, Prometheus'
ridge-less, nub-less buckings are not recommended. On that same note,
neither are Modify's (the nub is okay, the hard bucking is terrible, but
the soft grey bucking is good, despite retaining the alignment ridge for no
reason whatsoever).
From a lot of personal experience working on many customer's guns and many
of my own, no flat hop beats a DIY trimmed bucking and an M-Nub. +Whatfor5 ,
if you were ever to produce a smooth-bore bucking, I'd pick one up in a
heart beat, as I'm confident HS5 of all people could produce a great hopup
bucking. There's certainly a market for it.
Completely agreed. The idea is sound, but the act of creating a ridgeless bucking line is a little redundant and a bit tricky. The process is so very simple. Not to mention that bucking "degrees" are all over the place (i.e. a 70D Maple Leaf bucking is much harder than a Lonex 70D in my experience) so labelling them based on hardness wouldn't be too convenient, let alone manufacturing them based on a barely existent industry standard. Either way, keep up the great work, man :)
+Devin Dhillon I've had fine luck with the promy, not so great with the modify. Don't typically bother though, as it is so trivial to remove the mound and ridge as you noted. I looked into making a bucking, discarded it though. You see, people "like" different buckings for both different reasons and because their sizes are all different. To then do it "properly" you'd really need maybe a dozen different spec combinations, and then different materials for different purposes. You'd then need to explain to people how to properly measure their guns, what proper bucking fitment is, what material for what application, and so on. By the time it was all done you'd have too many expensive molds, a product line of probably almost 40 different buckings, and nobody would know what product to buy anyway; it'd all just be a mess. :P So I discarded the idea. I don't want to make just another "me too" product if I can help it.

I did the same thing to my gun nd I put a angel custom 6.01 barrel with a
prommy concave nub for flathops nd accuracy wasnt eaxctly the best. It
seems like grouping werent the best. I would have a alot of flyers. Did I
do somethin wrong? I cleaned the barrel mulitple times nd still get those
flyers. :/
The issue could be the concave nub, but you also have to make sure that you turn the bucking once removing the ridges so its a factory flat surface. I have one concave nub set up as well with the purple promy and have excellent range and accuracy using a Madbul 6.03
Yeah now I use G&P bucking, Madbull tightbore, Maple Leaf RTX flat nub, and ProWin chamber. I had issues with the Modify bucking, it was not the right consistency. Too hard I think.
+Spartan Airsoft Ben I upgraded to modify barrel, hop up unit and flat hop bucking/nub. Did not get great results, this weekend I'm switching to prowin unit and prommy bucking and flat nub. Curious if there will be a difference
How do you Nuben compared to the arm which presses Nubben down , just right
or you put it as the press specifically or maybe you could show how to
place the nub at the hop -up arm so that it would be Correct ? :)
Airsoft Evike.com- Range Extended Adjustable Projection System (REAPS) Test
The REAPS ME3 Hop Up Bucking is designed to "take your range to infinity," according to the manufacturer. It is an improved version of your AEG's standard hop ...
I'm really not sure what all the fuss about it not being a worthy product
for us consumers. I have the ME1 version with a 6.03 407mm barrel, with an
M120 setup and it really improved my range. accuracy is on and off, because
i haven't broken in my barrel yet, but in my opinion, its worth the $10. A
good alternative to those who don't want to mess with R-hops.
doesnt seem too bad, i would buy it, come on people most of you dont even
engage at that distance, so the extra 100 ft the rhop gives is not really
all that necessary since it takes like 2 hours for the bb to get there
anyways, not saying its bad but you just dont needs it, this is a pretty
decent bucking if you ask me, the perfect range to be honest
well you have to take into consideration that they are using a gas pistol,
and thats almost 200 feef away, most aeg start to struggle at that range
for accuracy. so if they can post a video showing what its like in an aeg
with a tight bore, im sure it would show a considerable increase in accuracy
actually it does when doing gas guns. Try throwing your mag in the fridge
over night filled with gas and try to use it.. Then use one left at room
temp for like an hour. Although it doesn't matter since this guy is
retarded and the product is worthless
I don't know... It seems like a decent idea, but I can see a lot of flaws
in it... You would have to reset your hopup for targets between standard
range and those farther out. Also, if there was any wind, it would blow the
BBs all over the place.
yes. they don't currently have the g18 bucking yet, but when they do you
add a thing to your cart called "custom work" for 35$ an hour. they'll send
you an email asking what you want, and you tell them to install the bucking
on the gun
It keeps the BBs flying straight guys. Why would you want to turn your
hop-up all the way up and have your BB act like a Javelin missle? This
would get BBs on target faster than hop-up and you'd have more control of
where your BBs go.
Holy cow, that was the worst advertisement/review I have ever seen in my
entire life. Literally. Why........does he.....pause......after
every......single......word.....? Here......let me show......you......
If you are trying to use your sidearm to engage people 60m out... you are
doing it wrong. Also, "where are you going" as the guy says? Uh, how about
sidestepping each shot well before it gets there.
Airsoft Is all about war simulation no one in war is going to have a system
that can hit there enemy from anywere that defeats the purpose of war and
airsoft!!! Reaps is something i wouldn't buy!!!
you know it may shoot far the the bb's are going allover the place have fun
hitting the target with that may let you shoot farther but why shoot if you
can't hit what your aiming at?
its not practical to get this, even if you can reach 60 m, theres no way
you will hit a target with that accuracy. the guy only hit the bucket half
the time he was shooting at it
yeah i agree with someone who commented below its so inaccurate. with the
pistol anyways. pistols just arent meant to shoot that far but it might be
worth getting it for your aeg
look where the bbs are flying, they are going all over the place. if your
down to a pistol shooting at that distance, by the time you hit the person
you'll be dead :P
This guys sounds like he should be in an airsoft version of Balls of
Steel... where the antagonist team... *breathes heavy* is full of Asians!
Dun dun DUN!!!
Was i the only one laughing at his accent? (No offence i love asains but
thay talk funny)
3D Printed HopUp Bucking (Ninja Flex, Zen Toolworks)

I have a model I created of a hop up bucking I'm in the works on but don't
have a means of manufacturing my plans. Would you be willing to do a run or
two of my designs on your printer with the ninja flex? I honestly believe
it will be with your time? Any way I can contact you?
+Mosszilla My printer prints very poorly in Ninja flex and very thick, the one or two decent prints I got had to be heavily modified to even fit around the barrel. I would recommend Shapeways you can print in wax on there which you then can use to cast actual rubber and mass manufacture these, or you can print a metal 3 piece mold, it might be pricy but then you can make these at home possibly.
I currently have it installed in my DG and I have 0 interest in disassembling it again. I might get more of these barrels as they seem to work well I can't tell if they have any benefit over a standard tighbore barrel but this is all just speculation. Unfortunately my backyard only gives me about 60 feet to test so it's not great for range and accuracy comparisons.
Hey, I own 3 tnk guns. All of my hop ups have been destroyed due to the
insane recoil. Please let me know what hop up will work the best . Also
have you tried installing a miracle barrel into the dg ? From some of my
teammates the miracle barrel and Orga wide bore barrel works great with the
dg kit. If you could test that out in you next video that would be great.
So I can upgrade mines. :) thanks
Right after I posted this video I swapped the barrel for a miracle barrel. Next gameplay video will show it in action. It's shooting great in the backyard but I don't have enough room to truly test the range.
I actually swapped the tanio koba out for the miracle barrel yesterday. The MB was a 407mm vs a 300mm TK but it seems to be more consistent on full auto. As some viewers mentioned the TK is best for guns sub 330fps. But when I had it installed it seemed very accurate on semi. On full BBs would curve right, could be the amount of air mixed with the twist groves were spinning the BBs out of control.
Prowin Hopup + Maple Leaf RTX Concave Flat Hop Nub

hey ik this is OT but i have both the prowin and have had maybe 3 of the
maple leaf buckings. now when they work they're great but when they don't
it's a nightmare i've had two tear right around the mound and the gun
really just does not hop at all or over hops when this happens i was going
to ask you since you had the black modify baton ryusoku now was that the 13
dollar one off evike? and did it come with the nub?
Yeah I have had an overall good experience with the modify but I use the maple leaf because I have had some self caused issues with the modify (I was using the modify bucking and it started to rip, giving me problems and I had superglue residue on the nub causing alignment problems.) If you use the modify correctly and don't use it as a learning tool like I did you will have good results.
waaaaaait... why eraser AND m-nub?
i thought that making a nub out of the eraser removes the need for the
pricey orange nub thing... just install the r-hop and use the pink eraser
as a nub...
Am i missing something here?
beautiful video, btw, quick and to the point explanation on this type of
bucking chamber
Hi Kilo, Your R hop videos are really sweet by the way. I am from Canada
and was looking at potentially doing an R HOP for a custom DMR that I am
building from scratch. I would have an Angel Custom G2 SS 6.01mm 510mm
tight bore inner barrel, a maple leaf 80 bucking, and the pro win CNC hop
up. Will I be able to do an effective r hop on the angel custom barrel's
window? Or will I need to change some things in my order? I would be buying
the HSA IR hop, HSA M nub, and HSA r hop installation tool. Will I need
anything else to make this r hop work? Also, I am fairly new to the idea of
r hopping and was wondering what the point of the pink eraser and m nub on
the arm inside the PW hop up is. Please reply to my comment and answer some
of my questions as soon as possible. Thanks! PS: we should do sub for sub
:P
+Kilo Two-One Ok, but doesn't that then lose air seal therefore accuracy? And would it still WORK on the angel? I know I would have to do some more shaping and cutting, but do you think r hops work still on 6.01? If not, I suppose it will also save me a few bucks to grab a mad bull 6.03 black python 509mm
Well, the only thing I would change up is the angel custom barrel. To be honest, rhops do a much better job in wider bores such as 6.03-6.05 instead of tighter bore barrels. The rhop requires a soft flat nub to barely provide pressure on the pad. The m-nub was created to do this. A lot of people use some sort of soft nub that is similar to the m-nub in shape and material. The eraser is to fill in the gap between the m-nub and the rhop since prowin hopups have deeper nub channels and an arm that doesn't apply a lot of pressure on the patch. The pink eraser helps solve these issues by bringing the arm up a little.
Do you need the eraser or can you just run it with just the mnub using the
prowin hop up? Also, do you have to cut the eraser at angle like you said
in your other rhop video or can it be flat?
Anything would work. As long as it is snug and doesn't allow glue to seep past then you are good to go. Also choose a material that wont scratch your barrel.
+Kilo Two-One Oh okay thanks! OH also, i dont have the rod to put inside the barrel when putting on the r hop patch, is there something else i can use or do i really need to have it?
The nub channel is a bit deeper in a prowin hence the need for the eraser. I would also recommend cutting the eraser at an angle but its not necessary. It will just help with your groupings
What are your thoughts on the maple leaf bucking and the nub that it comes
with ? Would it increase accuracy and range to a stock jg ? I ask bcuz I
just put one in recently but haven't gone out to shoot it. And keep up the
good work !
+Kilo Two-One i actually have a maple leaf 75 degree bucking but one from a batch from maybe a couple months to a year ago i cant remember when i got it really, paired with the nub as well. I haven't actually payed much attention to its performance but i just purchased a prowin chamber and it should come in soon i plan to get a game in during the holidays and will update on the performance then. note: chances are i have put enough bb's through it to wear down the front end of the bucking mound so results may be better then if you purchased one new i hear this is an issue with both reaps A+ and maple leaf buckings so you can't really judge them till they're broken in though i still want to try an r-hop i dont think i would do that to a brand new chamber also may i ask what the eraser is for? as the m-nub alone should provide amble pressure to the contact patch (r-hop)
I am a fan of the maple leaf bucking because of the cost. To be honest, its just the hot new fad right now. I have found that their recent batch has an issue where the lips are not made right and so it doesn't completely close around the BB. I The specific combo you are looking at is meh in my perspective. It does increase range a tad (not like an rhop or a flat hop though), but the groupings are terrible, especially at the beginning. The maple leaf needs to have the front end of the bucking's bump worn down a bit before it really shoots decently.
Could you accomplish good results fromvthos without shop installed. I have
the same hop up with the red madbull 70d bucking and I was wondering if I
took the normal shark nub, which i think sucks and use the eraser and and
mnub and get good results. What's your opinion and would it be worth to
just rhop? I have a EF 4crs with a VFC 6.3 barrel 380mm. With about 360FPS
on.25. I use .28 bb normally though.
You don't need to rhop to get good range and such. What you could do is just flathop your bucking (removing the bump on the inside) and use an eraser/mnub. That would give you pretty good results as well. Try that out and see how you like it.
Hop Up Tutorial - L96 / Type 96 - Sniper rifle long distance setup
How to adjust the L96 hop unit to get maximum range from the gun, here are some examples of of criteria that will affect the BB and how you can use the ...
Hello, i have a question. Even if i ajust my hop up to max (on l96) it does
not totaly lift the BB. Tried with .30 and .36. what u think it can be? The
ruber seems nice with no fails. May i buy other ruber?
+RandomTrashy So i have put some tape on that little rubber that fits the arm and makes pressure on the bucking. It's probably solved but i can only test tomorrow because it is already night here
+RandomTrashy So i tried all the way from nothing to full hop up 3 times the way u said to. it does not even pass from your trajetory 4 to 3. It goes better every time i screw but then i reach the end of it.
Hi, I've managed to misplace the spring that is supposed to be between the
hop-up arm and the unit itself. Are such springs attainable elsewhere or
will I have to buy a new unit/ raid pens of their springs until I find a
match?
+Patric Berggren Try pen raiding, if not nip to a local airsoft shop see if they have a box or spares you can sift through, try a bic pen and cut it down ?
What about dual hop up system? I have on my mb06 a dual hop up system wich
has 2 allen screws to adjust the hop up, but its way to complicaded to
adjust it. And can you also do a video about scoopes? On a detailed way to
zero the scoope.
Thanks, and good video!
