Almost inexplicable that, in the highlights of the Miami-New England game
on December 8, 1980, there was no mention of Cosell's announcement of the
death of John Lennon. One of the most memorable moments in MNF history...
When Monday Night Football was truly Monday Night Football.

This is just my opinion but there is a possibility that the players have
lost their respect to the manager, especially based on how he treated the
team doctor, eva carneiro
Bollox..its just sky pundits hyping up a good player to be a world great because the premier league loses all its stars...always has...Hazzard is good on the breaking ball with runners in front of him....the ball only breaks when the midfield can trap and force turn overs....that can only happen when they have the energy to do it. no one talks about it but energy is vital, IMO Jose ran that team into the ground to win that title...it showed in their last few games of the season and, what ever happened during the summer, they came back tired.....Jose does that....he's done that at every club....Ferguson done it in his last year.....and Wenger will do it this year chasing the league......you can't play a full premier league season without a lot of rotation especially in midfield....in Spain it doesn't matter but a hard English winter drains players. ..."blah blah professionals shouldn't get tired"...I'm sorry but they do at the very top level in England, there's no easy games now.
+JubalBed You'd have to say Neymar is better because he has evolved after a decent season whereas Eden has regressed. To be a world class player you need consistency as per what Neville stated.
+Luke Whyatt Is he better or equal to Neymar who is playing even better than last season?

+Jeffrey T. Steptoe Hey Jeffrey - yes Mr Dryer was #89. As he said famously when leaving NYC via NE for a day before becoming an LA Ram in Jan 1972 draft day trade; "ever try surfing in the east river? I want to play on the west coast" qb Fran Tarkenton once quipped "Fred is a human UFO"
note the hash marks. giving real weak, strong side scrimmage play. in the
name of higher scoring, they moved the hash marks in soon after this
season, 1973 maybe. this was real hard ass football. spearing, clothes
lining and chucking receivers downfield was an accepted part of the game.
really cool seeing all the afro's and sideburns. this was entertainment
boys.
+Saltwaterebel Hey Rebel - 1972 is when NFL moved the hash marks in, hoping for more long TD passes that had evaporated over the years. Instead, they got 1,000 yard runners aplenty and FG kicking accuracy went up. The old (1920-71) hash mark 5 yrd fg's, were nearly impossible to make! I know, hard to believe...
+threeby8887 The often recognized genius Al Davis and his front office picked Don Mosebar instead of Dan Marino. Of course, Al was preoccupied with Pete Rozelle. To his credit, Mosebar turned out to be a good player. Although they later jokingly referred to him as Dan Mosebar to rub it in.
+Jeff Smith Hey Jeff....My NYG's at the time thought they found the next Homer Jones aka small Texas school track star with blazing speed...presto NFL'er. Mr Thompson might have had success had he learned ala Tiki Barber how to carry the ball properly? Alex Webster was a very good player and then good coach imo, however, the miniscule teachings today and repetition they do? That might have helped mr Thompson, again I stress, might have helped. Mr Thompson would have to help himself as well, and we dont know if that would be the case.
+Don Mueller In tonight's game Rocky would cough it up on the opening kick-off: 8:17 Great speed, slippery hands. Coach, I can get it to almost the 40-yard line, but then I'm gonna spill.
+Jeff Smith The Giants front office was blinded by Thompson's blinding speed. Apparently, he was only good when Dick Kotite (no. 87) made a block for him: 5:11 The partial success of the Rocky & Bullwinkle Show. Of course, Bullwinkle, I mean Rich Kotite, would go on to be one of the worst head coaches in NFL history.

Absolutely brutal loss that epitomized the 1983 season. Heartbreak after
heartbreak. There were, what, four losses that year that occurred within
the last 2 minutes when the Saints had the lead? Of course, the season
ending loss to the Rams remains among the worst losses in franchise
history. A last second field goal loss to the Rams that were the only
offensive points the Rams scored all game in a 26-24 win with the loser out
of the playoffs. 2 pick-sixes, a punt return TD, and a safety were the
other scores. In retrospect, however, Bum did a very mediocre job. The Rams
proved to be better for the next few years while Bum ended up resigning 2
years later. Bum should never have traded Manning and Wes Chandler.
Absolutely awful decisions that may have cost him the playoffs.
Thank you for uploading this game that was impossible to find. I was
cheering my heart out for the Saints, only to have it broken in the end.
Despite their disappointments, I'll always be a Saints fan for life.
