Coarse? ... Aveda needs to show a different stylist for their video. One
that has enough experience to know the difference between coarse, and fine
hair.
True I would consider her hair strands fine to medium. But I guess in comparison to the stylist hair, her hair is a bit fuller I guess. But I agree don't think she really has thick hair and def not coarse. I was confused at her statement as what she really meant.
Any way to do this without heat? Note: my hair was perfect tight ringlets.
It has slowly devolved into a sad, fluffy mess, somewhat like the model's
before. However! The hair behind my ears often remains curly, especially if
I shower at night and sleep with wet hair. Since my hair is already so dry,
because I'm inexperienced with heat tools (and own none), I want to try
this twisting technique to see if it will revitalize my curl. Just...
without blow drying (and/or curling iron). Possible?
It would be interesting to see the products on actually CURLY hair. Her
hair is more wavy. I have thick, coarse, frizzy curly hair and I don't need
to use a curling rod or twist my hair to make it do what her hair does. I
am just beginning to try the Aveda line and this video kinda made me want
to stop buying their products if THAT is the hair you consider curly! No
wonder my hair seems to need more!
I just want to say to anyone with curly hair, these products are GREAT. I
have tried many salon brands and gave up on my curly hair cause I thought I
just didn't like it on me. I started using these and I love my curls. I get
tons of compliments...people ask me if I curled it myself..."nope!
natural!" :):)
Not only would that take a long time but it would cause to much damage to
your hair, especially if you use heat tools on high settings. Which then
cause you to lose your curls natural defenition. Curls become naturally
defined when it is well nurished, so you won't have to go through this kind
of process.
I have curly hair that I'm trying to understand for the first time in 27
years. My hair type is Not like the models, but I'm going to give this
twisting method a try with Shea Moisture curl enhancing smoothie to see if
it helps define my curls and tame my frizz which is the main problem I'm
having
@KIDsinLove8 I'm guessing your hair is possibly wavier than hers. I have
naturally curly hair too... more like 3c/4a and mine has a slight looser
curl pattern, so in her case, it made her hair curlier cuz she doesn't have
much curl to begin with.. if that makes sense. lol
@sunshine3317 Thanks for being an Aveda fan! We apologize for any
inconvenience. Because we recently launched Be CurlyTM Style-PrepTM, we
needed to update the video to include the full product range. We hope you
will continue to visit our page and enjoy the new video.
Same here. I have naturally tight curls and was thinking I don't need any
"curl enhancer". LOL! But I think twisting the strands may help to bind the
curls so it won't frizz. And it may also help keep definition. I'm gonna
give it a try and see what happens.
I do this technique with my hair, it works. Although I have never used
Aveda products. At least this video is more realistic than the John Frieda
one. I love John frieda's shampoo and conditioner for curly hair, But I
can't find them anymore in Australia...
True, that method is really good. But the twisting method only works
because of the product applied before. The product helps the twisted pieces
stay twisted. If you try to twist your hair without applying any product
before, it won't stay like that.
@iiliketospit I have 4a hair and I don't have z pattern hair. There's three
sub types within type 4 hair: 4a, 4b, 4c. 4a hair is a tighter curl, it is
not a z pattern, so now you know. Look it up if you want.
Im using this technique every time since years. Its works aevery time but
it just takes ages to do. So when you have less time try to twiste bigger
sections of your hair and less layers.
We have just the product to help reign in your fluffy hair! Try our
Brilliant Humectant Pomade — it helps to enhance curl and control style.
Check it out at Aveda.com. ^ed
These products and technique did not give any better results for my curly
hair then the products I was already using which are much cheaper. In fact
my hair was frizzier.
My natural curls are like hers, medium sized rings! I am going to try these
products! Yippee! Thanks Aveda! And I need to dig out for my diffuser
attachment argh!
EMPTIES | Products I've Used Up
I wanted to properly review a bunch of my recently used up products. Once you have "hit pan" you really get a good idea of if an item is repurchase-worthy or not ...
if u read the ingredients on the packaging of products u buy look for
Sulfates(in wash products) parabens and PEG or Propylene Glycol these
products " wake up " cancer cells in the body seriously u may google this u
r just a nice girl i wanted u to know
Jen, next time would you please do a close-up of the products? It's hard to
see if it's a small package. As much as I like watching you... I'd like to
see the products.... thx!
I share the exact same view with you on the makeup wipes, as its easy and
fast. But I tried the boscia makeup break up cool cleansing oil and it
totally changed my view on removing makeup! I repurchased it after the
first use and let me tell you how effective at removing makeup. It removed
everything including waterproof mascara and heavy foundation. I didn't need
to follow-up with any cleansing cream or anything. Just slap that oil on
your face, rinse, and put on moisturizer and you are done! I definitely
recommend it if you haven't tried it before Jen!
Wipes do not cleanse your face completely. You should follow up with a cleanser, especially at the end of the day when all that crap has been sitting on your face.
I personally love empties vids more than faves because then you'll know if
the products is really as good and if you you want to buy it again or not
and I would also like to see product you don't like or don't recommend.
+Sofi Lia I put the exact links in the info box below the video but I'm wearing a Marc Jacobs lipgloss with an MJ orange lipstick blended in on top. Lipstick second is what gave it that really glassy look. :)
+Vy Pham I know! It's so sad in this case cause I loved having my short hair and I'm gonna have to either get it trimmed soon or grow it out again! T_T
I would love to win a collection of Rumo's Hair Products! I have very fine
limp hair and have not been able to find anything that volumes!! Thanks for
all your hard work in putting out all the great videos!!
I want to win Rumo's hair products because I too have very fine, limp hair
that's also naturally curly I am a hair stylist from NC and I'm always
looking to try new haircare products and that sea salt product seems
amazing! Oh btw, I graduated from an Aveda cosmetology school and they have
some of the best, naturally derived and organic products!!!
Girl I love the eyeko mascaras and liners! The mascara is amazing and it
makes your lashes better without mascara too, which is always wonderful :-p
I want to win Rumo's salt thingy!!! That sounds amazing I want volume!
Chewy is SO cute. LOL I'd love to win Rumo's hair products. You and I have
similar hair and if it works on you, it will probably do well on me. I get
so fustrated when I do my hair, it looks great, and then I walk outside
and...POOF! Frizz bomb....LOL Hugs and God Bless!
Wow, I couldn't stop looking at your eyes, very pretty, simple, but very
pretty especially how you paired it with the nudey lip.I love your whole
look :) I'm very interested in the saltwater hair foam. I don't think I
have like such fine fine hair, but it's definitely not thick like my mom's
or friend's..it is more on the thinner side i believe..i don't even know
lol. I was actually considering the dove oxygen spray thingy to give my
hair more volume and shjuj :P but I think I'll try out for this giveaway
and I want to win Rumo's hair products ..best of luck to everyone!
+Damaris Ricard Tell me about it! Shopping for makeup makes me happy! hahahah I just bought more things! I've been so bad. Think I will go on a "NO BUY" for June!! lol! Thank you for the support always!
Luv your haul videos because you go to stores that I have never heard of,
so that makes me want to try something different. So, does the rub, rub, rub
scrub lather at all...or is it a scrub only? Please let me know, sounds
like something I want to try!!
+Gladys Brown Thank you so much!!! Glad you are enjoying! Do you mean the Ocean Salt? Love it! It doesn't lather, it's just a scrub but it is my favorite scrub in the whole wide world for the body! I like Ocean Salt more than Rub Rub Rub.
+Lourdes Maya Hi! Thank you for watching. So I have good news and bad news. Good news is that so far I love the Simple Micellar Water. As far the IT Cosmetics CC Concealer, I hated it! I returned it already because it left my under-eye area shimmery. In case you meant the NYX orange color concealer, so far loving that one! Hope this helps!
+daapples Yes!!! I can't live without that concealer method! First moisturize under-eye area, then add salmon colored concealer, then flesh tone concealer, blend with brush and finally set with powder! Hope you like it!
Thanks for sharing, I love seeing haul videos and learning about new
products. I use that UD good karma optical blurring brush for all my
"thinner" liquid foundations, the foundations that are to thin for a beauty
blender ... I Love it, BEST brush ever!!
READ MEE!!! I tried AVEDA Smooth Infusion Naturally Straight on my 4b/4c natural hair. The treatment was done at the AVEDA education centre in Maarssen, ...
+briepea Hi, they did it as much as I allowed them to. They would've used the comb chase method, which I'm not too fond of as it requires the use of a fine tooth comb. I'm happy with my big straight hair but I'm glad you know what you like. Sometimes a temporary style simply isn't worth the damage in my opinion.
Naturally Aveda gives this item five stars but I am surprised you do
also!? This $26 item sucks and never worked for a second. I knew they
would say it works progressively, so I never got my money back, but this
item does nothing but make your hair look dirty.
+Bill Willy Oh dear! Sorry to hear that! Everyone's hair responds differently. What's your hair type? Did you blow dry and flat iron? I think this product works best when combed/brushed into the hair and left on during heat styling. Give it another go! I'll be uploading a tutorial soon, maybe it'll be of help.
