Surface Pro - OS X - Pen Demo #2 - Pixelmator
This is a second demo of the Surface Pro's "Out of Box" capabilities running OS X. I used the program Pixelmator to do a test of pressure sensitivity and the ...
Hey Johnny, I've unfortunately had to temporarily remove my OS X install,
but there is no reason gaming shouldn't work on this install. Graphics is
100% operational so you should be able to run games as well as they work in
Windows. Just make sure you have some kind of Ethernet to USB dongle or a
wifi chip so you can install steam and download the games, etc. after
you're done with the install. If you give it a try, let me know how it goes!
how we can check if it will work on many devices ? may be we can contact
developer and ask if i have not only one surface do i need to pay 200$ for
each ? or may be we can just make a crack for the driver , im not relly
good with it , but may be some one good and if we get driver it is not take
long time to copy it or make a clone . im can donate 1$ even if it not
gonna work , just to try , let s find 199 more peaple and try
200 sounds too much, may be you can offer company to gave you driver to try
for free and make a rewiev about driver, how it works on surface , or big
discount , and if you get driver you can at least check it and see how it
installs in to the system and how it works. may be if you start asking
about licensing , company can fix security , but if you get it , there is a
chance it gonna be transferable
No no! Sorry I didn't mean to confuse you, I meant on my PC! So you did use
Iatkos then hmm? I see, but the Graphics Acceleration works out of the box
with 10.9? Ill see what i can find about this, theres many people really
interested in this project because of the portability! I dont own a Surface
so I cant do any testing or kext editing
Sounds like an OK option to me. My only worry would be that the drivers
wouldn't work and then everyone would have wasted their money and I
wouldn't want to do that. And I'm thinking we will only get the touch
drivers working. I highly doubt the Wifi or BT driver will ever be working,
but I guess you never know
It's a company called Touch-Base. They make generic touchscreen drivers for
all platforms. I've read elsewhere that someone got it installed and
running on a SP with OS X, but the trial limits you to 100 touches. But it
supposedly worked perfectly. If you google 'touchbase drivers' they're the
first link.
You were able to get your built-in wifi to work? I'd like to see that. My
original install on the SP was the iatkos ML3 build and my wireless never
worked for me. I ended up working on a vanilla install technique because
the graphics acceleration did not work for me with the iatkos build.
Ok well I'll write a message to the company who makes the driver tomorrow
and ask them what their licensing situation is like. If it seems feasible,
I'll post something on here and we'll see about getting some kind of PayPal
donation account set up or something
may be if driver cost 200$ , we all can gave you donation and when you net
it you just posted , 200$ is a lot for the driver , but if 200$ pay only
dollar , it is sounds better , and we can do the same for WiFi and bluetuz
driver , let me know what you think
Again, it's a possibility but OS X driver writers are pretty hard to find.
It will take some serious research. As far as the touchscreen demo drivers,
no. This is my vacation week so I won't be doing any work on this project
this week while I'm away.
Have you tried installing Iatkos ML3 on it? I was able to get my Wifi card
to work by installing it, same with the sound which is something i couldnt
do with a fresh install, i was not able to locate the kexts i need but
iatkos solved it for me
Yeah I think they at least have a trial that gives you 200 touches so that
might even be enough. Who knows, they may even be interested in this
project to see how well it would work/not work. It will definitely be
interesting
I'm selling my Surface Pro with OSX in the LA area if someone is interested
in it. I made a quick commercial for it: https://vimeo.com/92494842
If interested, please hit me up. It's really damn cool to have it.
