I Will Not Bow - Breaking Benjamin Drum Cover HD

Great cover, sounds amazing, but two things, in my opinion, are wrong.
*1.* Your technique for holding the drumsticks is completely wrong. You're
thumb and index finger are placed correctly, but your wrist has to be
turned SIDEWAYS with the thumb facing TO THE SIDE. Not upwards.
*2.* YOU LOOK SO FREAKIN BORED MAN. You sounds great but it seems you have
no energy or enthusiasm for covering this song! If you watch heavy metal
drummers like Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan, the old drummer for Avenged
Sevenfold, he drums with lots of energy, swinging his arms everywhere, and
having fun with it. You look like you're about to fall over and sleep. Gain
some energy for the song you're playing.
+Jonatan MartinezI see your point, it mostly just depends on what kind of style you're going for. If you're recording for a song for a studio album, you would be more relaxed so you could easily do fills and such for a better sound quality. But if you're recording yourself or performing live, you want to make it sound AND look interesting, otherwise you'll lose some audience interest. Adding on to that, you would want to play wrist up so your wrists wouldn't get as pained from unnatural movement. You would normally play wrists up and thumbs to the side for more powerful playing.
+The Dark Skull's Charm Music and Gaming The way he is holding the sticks is a version of the matched grip and can be seen being used by some of our greatest drummers. When I used to play the drums i was holding the exact same way and had no injuries at all the 8 years that i played. The main point is that he is relaxed and won't injure himself, which also corresponds to your second point. This song has alot of doublestroke involved which this guy pulls off very nice and it sounds dynamic. It would be quite hard to pull that off if he had his arms above his head, swinging like a madman on the drums.
+Chris Stanley I agree 100% ... some of my favorite drummers play with blank expressions on their face ... they are focused on the music and how they feel playing it ... showmanship can add to a performance but it doesn't have to be there at all ... you played a solid cover
+The Dark Skull's Charm Music and Gaming 1. Technique is something everyone is working on and you can find a million people who will tell you a million different ways that they think are right. I don't think my technique is perfect but I don't need someone else to tell me that.2. I'm not trying to be another drummer so let me enjoy music the way I like. I wouldn't have played the song if I didn't enjoy playing it. I don't really care if that it don't translate through the video, and nor does it matter to most watching it. I'm not trying to appease someone's idea of what a drummer should look like.
+PSYCLOO I have the same set ( i have the 450k but it only changes the snare), for a beginner (as i am), will work very well!PS: what's your main language? Spanish, maybe?
