Thanks for sharing this video to bring back all the great memories of this
park. Stationed at the hospital, 84-87. Ran around this park many a
Saturday morning with the Naples Running Club. Held a Turkey trot run one
year and it had rained so much that we were running in ankle deep water out
there. Loved eating the calzones at the golf course snack bar too.
Attended every British Fete while I was there and every 4th of July picnic
out there. Remember seeing Stephen Stills and Cheap Trick at a USO show
one 4th weekend. Great Memories!!!!!
I love this video! I used to go here as a kid quite often in 1968 & 1969
shortly after Carney Park was opened. A lot has changed in 44 years! The
Drive-In is gone, and there are quite a few more buildings but still, a
great drive! I liked it so much I hooked the computer up to the big screen
TV to get the 'Almost As Good As There' feel! :) THANKS!
