Meltzer Says U.S. Economic Programs Have Been `Foolish'
July 8 (Bloomberg) -- Allan Meltzer, a professor of political economy at Carnegie Mellon University, speaks about the U.S. budget deficit and economy. Meltzer ...
@applesweeter (continued) (4) USA design product and service based on
Quality Function Deployment (QFD), which China do not. USA products and
services are more welcome the world because it meets customers' wants and
needs. (5) Onec Again, USA is going to export more high-technique products
(eg. aeroplanes, CPU, space technology, high-speed-train..etc), management
systme, service franchies and patinet, copyright (IP), systme, and
managment services................ (continue)
In my opinion, I think the President Obama should have 3 initiatives to
stimulate the economy: (1) increase oversea export and service by "US
Export Council" to obtain revenue from 7 billion people in the world; (2)
help people to obtain job; (3) maintyain stable taxation rate; and (4)
investing government money on visionary project that benefits Americans and
the world in medium and long-term ( I mean international partnership is
essential for success) What do you think?
@slhines7 I have opinions different from you. (1) Although many
manufacturing work has been moved to China and South America, most of their
production ia about some "low-technique" simple things, such as toys and
electric boiler (eg. Chna cannot make 787, they cannot make Window Vista)
By the time that they catch up, the USA is making other things better and
more customer want. (2) China and south America do not have the attitudeon
strict quality control as USA. (continue)
@applesweeter All that I can tell you in a nutshell is that you need to
follow and keep informed with Peter Schiff, Max Keiser, Mark Faber, Ron
Paul, Gerald Celente, Jim Rogers, etc. If you do so, then you will have all
those specific questions answered in a nutshell and too know as to where I
stand/am coming from. I must say that your reply to me is the longest one
that I have ever received and I do appreciate it!
@slhines7 (continued) (3) China and South America do not amid to prodcut
intellectual property (IP) such as a patient, franchies, copyright of
system, management service, education program, which USA are planning to
produce to export. China and South America can produce only "physical
good". (eg. China do not make franchies licence of McDonnald). (continue)
You can't just throw away the Govt responsibility of social responsibility.
It's a question of survival, not extending comfort. I liked Margaret
Brennan's line of questioning. I disagree with Meltzer's take on Keynes.
What is consumption spending? Keynes spoke about government spending.
@applesweeter The President and/or govt's have ZERO capacity to create
jobs. End all stimulus, bailouts, shut off the printing presses, quit
spending future generations taxes, lower taxes, and bring manufacturing
jobs back to the USA.
@applesweeter There is little/less export from the USA due to manufacturing
facilities having been exported to mainly China. Once manufacturing jobs
leave, they almost never return. Hence, no more jobs in that sector.
@ppsychol There's always merit in trying to identify Government spending
that's going to be the most cost effective for creating jobs. But on the
tax issue I don't see how tax cuts can be a direct stimulus.
@slhines7 (continued) (5) .....................(continued) USA is exporting
"intelleatual properties (IP)", high-technology products and management
services. What do you think???
@applesweeter Peter Schiff is an economist/businessman who is running for
state Senate in CT. The remaining people are also economists, etc. I
encourage you to check them out.
@slhines7 By the way, what is the income tax rate in USA? In Hong Kong, we
have only 15%. If I donate money to charity organisation, I will have 40%
tax reduction.
@slhines7 Why? the GDP is rising. the economy is improving.
