Russia has really failed to utilize sanctions as a spring board to achieve strong domestic food production, which could be sold at premium, due to being organic. I understand this would create a great deal of backlash in the west, and all those nations that export food to Russia, and especially companies whose goal is to establish monopolies on food production.
