Broken Ryko Select-A-Wash - (HD)
Filmed June 14, 2014~ You may know this system from my most popular video, and sadly, it has been broken for five (5) Months now. According to the cashier, ...
If the owner really doesn't want this anymore you could potentially buy it
and put it in storage and try to convince him to replace it with a Sonny's
Xtreme Xpress or Ryko Rocket. Might be expensive though...
They do. Although CWE&S (AllWash is a subsidiary of CWE&S) just doesn't remanufacture them into Select-A-Washes, they replace the Onboard CMD's with the standard 3-light system, remove the touchless component guts, rebuild it and re-skin it. Theres a video of one by carwashchannel here: Multi-Colored Ryko/FoamBrite SoftGloss XS Car Wash
There is one type of conveyor that doesn't require a large loading zone: a dual belt from AVW or Tommy. Assuming the location would fit one, it could be a viable option.
Actually I do... and they must make a lot of money based on how many local Belanger tunnels I have in my area. Ducky's Car Wash has Belanger tunnels at 2 locations (the third has a mixed tunnel, as seen in the video I did), just like Jack's Car Wash (my most local car wash which has some stuff from 2006 that I got to see installed) along with some newer MacNeil equipment and a pair of belanger full-side brushes, and an Arco/BP gas station with a EC60-like tunnel. As of now, there are no Belanger IBAs that I can include in that list.
I have never seen a FreeStyler before (because everyone gets SG Maxx sysetems where I live). Its sad, and I have only a few good local tunnels (a Belanger/MacNeil one that I might film and Ducky's Car Wash which I have a video of). If I ever see an IBA go out and I talk to the owner then I will see if they will consider a FreeStyler for their new system. There is also a place (Ducky's) where I could (and probably will) campaign to get a Sonny's Buff 'n' Dry system installed.
Actually I think a FreeStyler would suit the location perfectly! Im saying a MAXX because he can keep the rails and floor steel (So no concrete work) and he wont have to modify any electrical equipment. Im sure a FreeStyler would be better though. They are much more reliable and the cleaning results are far more superior.
He could also potentially do a PDQ Icon or Belanger FreeStyler (both which I don't know the ratings on). Personally, I wouldn't go with a SG Maxx but a Mark VII AquaJet or Coleman Hanna FusionX/Water Wizard (depending if he would want a more flexible system or not) would be good if the operator decides he wants touchless. Offering touchless washes on a PDQ Tandem (idk if the Icon has a pressure wash system) would be an option, but the Tandem is very slow on friction passes for obvious reasons relating to the single side brush design. A SG Maxx would be good for customer appeal though, despite its lack of ability to go touchless.
I Wouldn't want to own a select-a-wash if I was payed too... Plus, I Doubt he would even think of replacing it with a tunnel. And the driveway is curved and it does't have enough space to make a loading area. I Personally think he should go with a Mark VII AquaJet XT or a SoftGloss MAXX
Yes AND No. In 1995, The Select-A-Wash came with an option of tall rocker panel brushes, which about 90% of the operators chose since it seemed more logical. There are still some with the short XS Style arms out there, but they are incredibly rare.
Tbh... That thing is never going to work again.. It's already parted out
and if the owner wanted that thing working again it wouldn't be.. And when
it does re open nobody will use it because they think its closed... Big
mistake to the dumb fuck owner
