Please get a harness and tether. On board alone and working on the deck
while underway... I just about had a heart attack watching your video and
I'm safe and sound here in my living room :)
Hi +Neil van vleet, I always sail with harness and tether...this is just a trailer...and there were two other people on board ;) But if you watch the rest of my videos, you will see that I always wear my harness when sailing solo.Ahoy, Nike & Karl
It's funny, everyone talks about going out on the sailboats and how it's
about simplicity and etc. I find living in my house infinitely simpler than
dealing with all the things that go wrong on my sailboat, the weather,
routes etc. I still like sailing though
I guess in that case you are right. What I meant was more that you are cutting down on some comfort like running water, electricity, car, fridge, shower, always having a supermarket close by...stuff like that. Being closer to nature, catching fish, exploring what is around you...I find that I can accept living much more uncomfortably on my boat. I think it might not be so easy to accept this lifestyle in the surrounding that I lived in before...Ahoy, Nike & Karl
oh, well, the boat in the trailer is actually not my boat...but a friend's (at the time when we did the trailer, I was still in Germany and my boat in Panama, so we had to use another boat...). It's the same type, but a little bigger and in MUCH better shape than Karl. I have Andersen winches on my boat.
I watched all of your videos and now I'm hooked! I sail too. What is the
make and model & year of your boat? Just curious where you get the money
to order all the items you need? Love your videos! Keep them coming! and
you speak good English!!!!!
The boat is a Reinke Super 10, made from aluminium and built in 1992 (you can see some more of the boat in Episode #4). Well, I saved some money and because I bought the boat in Panama, and it was in very bad shape, I did not have to spend that much on the boat and have some money left for parts. Also, I got some partial sponsoring from some companies. That helps a little, too!
Great koncept, a weekly appiteser.
I've having my own plan, abut sailing where the Wind takes me. Starting in
may 2016. I Wonder abut prices for habors and prices for food and Water.
Could you tell abut a genneral exspenses pr. month. Fair Winds to you
I will do that when I get more routine and travelling around more rather than working on the boat in one place :). Good luck for your trip!
