I was standing on top of the portapotties when a cop grabbed my shirt and
pulled me down off there. As soon as he left I jumped up there again and so
did a bunch of other people .... then it started collapsing from all the
weight. It was hard to see otherwise. I tried to move up front but the
people were so tightly packed around me, I started to panic and barely got
out of it! It was wild for sure!!!!!!!!
I am cracking up. I just shared this with my girlfriend at the time. She
was the girl in the green shirt being carried out on the stretcher and the
woman being interviewed was her step-mother. I was on the phone with the
step mother who had just called me from Parkland Hospital as I was watching
this on the news.
I was at this show. Barely avoided racial violence, almost got crushed, got
stepped on by a horse, hit a cop, helped rescue a girl who was overcome by
the press of the crowd, and decked a drunk. Never heard a note of the music
but still one of my best concert memories.
I was at this concert. IT was packed. I was young and brought my two young
kids as I ddin't have a babysitter. We didn't encounter any issues as we
stayed by many of the bikers by the trash dumpster in the alley with a
straight shot to the stage. Loved it.
I was 10 feet from the stage and quickly realized that I couldn't even get
my hands into my pockets because of the people crammed against me and
decided it was time to go. made it out before they started.
I was there, at the cotton bowl when Sammy's voice went out and 3 years
later in the West End when they played the free show. It was only about 45
minutes, though.
