Just wanted to make a fun vid of SSD vs 5400rpm since they're always fun to watch =) Inspiron 1501 has Tiny7 Ultimate (eXperience) installed and Alienware ...
@YouHaveMetYourMaker well loading of anything on the hard drive.. usually
loads super fast. SSD's are popular in laptops due to other things like
noise vibration - there is none. Usually HDD's are located under the
palmrest of a laptop, so you won't feel it, not as much heat is generated.
They're lighter and usually consume slightly less power for battery life.
They can withstand higher shock, if you youtube ssd's and paint can shaker
you'll see they won't fail while HDD's will fail.
@hazzaza1 it helps on games that load on the fly, say MMO's like WoW
example in Dalaran when you're running around it causes any minor hiccups
to load textures and toons. also games like Oblivion no annoy waiting for
new area to load, it's all smooth. in terms of higher FPS prob not in many
games that load up a map and you're off playing.
aznguyen316 I have a question for you concerning these lapdances...which
would provide the best porn surfing??? I know the dell gives the optimum
sound for sex scenes but what about the Alien Tiny??? Is it snappy??? can
you figure out the bootup time for me??? Has anyone told you that you look
like Derrick Rose from the Bulls??? hahahaha
Yes it does. HDD are a bottle neck becuase no matter how great is your
computer if you dont have optimal speed of data transmision, its a wasted
of time, the SSD tranfers the date over 5 times faster. its like puting
truck wheels to a F1, too much power, but the power cant be transfered to
the road
this is true, but 4gb is plenty. After that money is better spent toward
SSD if you already have a solid CPU/GPU of course. SSD helps some
stuttering in games that load on the fly like WoW and MMO's I've noticed.
You'll mostly get the same FPS though, just overall smoothness can be seen.
in order to accurately compare boottimes, you must first format your old
laptop and reinstall windows on it. Im sure you noticed thta when u get a
laptop fresh outta the box it always loads faster.. but after using it for
a while.. it always takes longer to boot into windows ...
Nice vid man, but Norton is killing your boot time... I have Windows Server
2008 R2 booting up on my Dell Latitude E5400 (crappy school'ish laptop)
running a 32GB patriot torqx 2..and it boots up 11 seconds. From power off,
to desktop in about 22 seconds.
@hanzocloud that's cool story bro. I wasn't looking for accuracy. Just
lookin to show boot times on my M11x and for a comparison I put my old Dell
against it, just for fun. Plus the Dell had a newly installed tiny7 anyway
=) just for fun comparison.
HAHAHAHA y0 I am Derrick Rose, but ppl don't know I rock technology. I
think either can provide best service for porn surfing, you want to stream
though, so it gets to you fast. Like that sexual chocolate VHS you had in
your basement. ahhhahah
@travis30384 for you to watch and have something to comment on. No, I just
did it to show boot speed of M11x. I could've just did it alone with the
m11x, but I wanted to put in a point of reference. not hard to understand.
@MASTURCHEEF001 yeah it is.. the light you see is the charging light..
meaning it was plugged into AC and it glows.. trust me it was off, or else
you would not have seen the BIOS screen.
@voseAKUMA only on loading levels in between matches.. other than that no,
not really since things are loaded all at once unlike open world games that
constantly load on the fly
What is the point of this? Of course the m11x is going to be faster, why
show it off? (Both of them are shit at modern games anyways) Lol - feel how
snappy it is *CHEW CHEW*
@Gearsguy405 that was my sister's laptop too haha I took it from her to use
as my work laptop since Ididn't want my M11x going to work every day lookin
badass lol
@sushiamelo probably the SSD. The pint of this video wasn't to battle, it
was the show the speed of the boot. The inspiron was thrown in there for
fun. dick
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY much faster... about 4 to 5 times faster. Well that why
a 250 GB SSD goes for 540 USD... while a 250 GB HDD 7200 RPM is about 100
USD
Shoulda got the dell a new tachometer that reads up to 12,000 RPM so it can
unlock its true potential
