Thyroid and Sugar (Diabetes) controlled in Nadipathy
THYROID TREATMENT IN NADIPATHY
The Thyroid is a butterfly shaped gland that found in the neck
region. It is one of the largest endocrine gland to maintain metabolic
activities in our body.
The Thyroid gland controls how quickly the body uses energy, makes proteins
and controls how sensitive the body should be to the other hormones. It
participates in these processes by producing thyroid hormones, the
principle ones being triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxin (T4). These
hormones regulate the rate of metabolism and affect the growth and rate of
function of many other systems in the body. T3 and T4 are synthesized from
both iodine and tyrosine. The thyroid also produces calcitonin, which plays
a role in calcium homeostasis.
Hormonal output from the thyroid is regulated by thyroid –stimulating
hormone (T.S.H) produced by the anterior pituitary, which itself is
regulated by thyrotropin – releasing hormone (T.R.H) produced by the
hypothalamus
The most common problems of the thyroid consist of an over-active
thyroid gland, referred to as hyperthyroidism and under-active thyroid
gland is referred as hypothyroidism.
Symptoms of hypothyroidism: Fatigue, Forgetfulness, Dry skin, Dry hair,
Brittle nails, Constipation, Muscle cramps, Depression, Decreased menstrual
flow, swelling in-front of neck (goitre).
Symptoms of hyperthyroidism: Feeling hot, Sweating, Sleep-lessness, Racing
thoughts, Difficulty to focusing on one thing, Forget fullness, Change in
bowel habits, Elevated heart rate, Anxiety, Nervousness (or) irritability,
Weight loss, Menstrual problems.

DIABETES TREATMENT IN NADIPATHY
WHAT IS DIABETES: It is the condition that body cannot balance the glucose
levels due to lack of energy to pancreas (or) the body cannot utilize
insulin to maintain glucose homeostasis. It was first known in the 17th
century, later it became a dangerous devil to human life.
Again Diabetes is differentiated in to two types’ diabetes mellitus and
diabetes insipidus. Diabetes mellitus is mainly caused by deficiency of
insulin due to either lack of energy in pancreas (or) any auto-immune
disease. While diabetes insipidus is caused by defect in secretion of
vasopressin (Antidiuretic hormone) which is secreted from pituitary gland
present in hypothalamus. Its function is to reabsorb water from distal
tubules in the kidney and due to this it control the concentration of
urine. But its deficiency caused increased water excretion through urine
even in low intake of water.
Diabetes mellitus and diabetes insipidus are unrelated, although they have
similar signs and symptoms like excessive thirst and excessive urination.
Diabetes mellitus is more common than the Diabetes insipidus.
DIABETES MELLITUS: There are mainly three types of Diabetes mellitus.
TYPE 1 DIABETES: The body does not produce insulin due to dis-function of
pancreas. Such diabetes called as insulin dependent diabetes. People
usually develop type-1 diabetes before their 40th year often in early
adulthood (or) teenage years.
Today type 1 diabetes has no proper treatment in all over the world. So
these individuals are insulin dependent to rest of their life.
Approximately 23 % of all diabetes cases are type 1.
