The documentation states that Vera is always in one of the 4 modes. Is
there a way to configure the default schedule for the Home/Night schedule
since everyone will have different scenarios. For instance, someone on a
3rd shift working schedule is very different than a regular 8am-5pm working
persons schedule.

+Vera Training Thanks Marc. I've just set up a Vera Edge and The HouseModes Plugin was just what I was looking for. I'd like to explore the use of code to test for conditions before executing (e.g. If porch lights already on then .... ) . Is there some reference material on Luup code? Thanks

Tyler, there is an MiOS (factory) developed plugin in the app store that allows you to incorporate Modes into scenes; that allows you to automate when a Mode is active by switching to it in the scene. Sometime next year we will add additional Mode functionality. When you do the scenes one, please show how to set the mode when the scene
is tripped.

+David AbigtYes, LUUP code will allow you to do that. I don't bring it up in a forum like this because introducing new users to that would be getting to far a head with them. Actually they can, I finally figured out where my typo was by sshing to the box and tailing the log. For example to schedule the night mode to engage at certain time if you are in home mode you add the following script to the scene. luup.call_action("urn:micasaverde-com:serviceId:HomeAutomationGateway1","SetHouseMode", { Mode=3 }, 0)and set the scene to only run in night mode. I like the Geo-fencing idea though for the away mode.

David, a scene won't activate a mode. You can designate which Modes a scene will run in.
