Not sure how fast the compressor of an ebay "gt28" spins at 10psi, but that probably isn't too bad then.

+Kameron Baker Yeah I know. Mine made less noises when I removed the turbo intake piping/filter as well. I can't imagine it being GOOD for the turbo's bearings regardless of what info was found considering the excessively high RPM the compressor is spinning at is being reduced significantly once throttle is closed for same reason as why on-throttle surge is bad, like you mentioned, the engine isn't able to ingest the amount of air the turbo is pushing while on-throttle and it gets pushed back, again, at high compressor RPM.

+Guillermo Rodriguez This car has been running without a BOV for mutliple years. let off surge is not harmful and has not been proven to shorten life of turbos on low boost applications like this, its on throttle surge you have to worry about.

+TWIRKNOLOVE its let off flutter amplified by piping in front of turbo, some call it a Dose pipe, its just a long silicone elbow with filter, without the elbow it does not make these noises.Its not the bad kind of surge that happens when on throttle

I want to turbo my e30 so bad, but it's my daily & I need reliability :( I have an m50b25 swapped in & just replaced the head gasket. I should've gotten that .140 spaced head gasket & arp studs while I was down there.

Im currently trying to get into a e30. And between ur success and many videos ive watch especially your /TUNED special im in love. Plan on boosting as well just want a nice daily with some kick and i can take to the track (circuit,drag, drift) when id like then drive her home. 20g seems sufficient for almost all of those

+Joshua Knutson much less bottom end now, but it really pick up after 3500. it depends on your goal the 20g is an excellent auto-x turbo while the 6262 would be a great top end/runway, hill climb and track turbo.
