Did those business scholars happen to mention how labor laws essentially enabled the unions to hold their employers hostage until they agreed to those exorbitant demands? There's a reason why companies fight unionization of their shops, or move their operations down south where unions hold far less ideological sway.

I think gM and all of the other auto companies by now should have gone with a different structure. Kinda like proctor and gamble where the employees own shares of the company. don't konw if they have anything like this currently instated.

I remember when pro-union states had a thriving auto manufacturing industry before UAW helped to strangle it. Hence, the migration of the industry to the more business-friendly south.

Why doesn't John mention the extreme amounts of torque steer and the understeer on the Ford Focus RS? the regular RS has 300 bhp and it has so much torque steer it is almost dangerous. and the RS500 as 345bhp!! I mean so it has differentials but it doesn't really fix the torque steer. shouldn't the viewers have a more comprehensive data? I know John knows this stuff. Is he ingnoring it just to make the car seem better?

Way too manmy people, especially younger ones, are roped into believing that American cars are unreliable. I guess if you want to use 20 year old data, that could be true. But todays cars are just as good, if not better than anything coming from Japan or Europe. US automakers haven't done a good enough job defending their products from the bullshit lies and inuendos. It all boils down to this: Buy American or you'll be sorry someday that you didn't.

Look. Real simple. Either buy American or go fuck yourself 'cause you're a faggot. I have a '97 Ford Explorer (135k miles) and a 2000 Ford Crown Vic Police Interceptor (67k miles) and they have never given me any problems. SO those that say American cars aren't reliable are full of shit and have never bought a late '90s - early 2000's Ford.

yea, i had a honda civic and that car felt like it was going to fall apart when you hit a bump or good size pot hole. they can say what ever they want about the reliability of the domestics. but at least the domestics arent gonna fall apart when you drive them down the road
