AUDI A4 - 2.4 V6 Chatter part 2

My 1998 Audi A4 2.4 V6 chatter. I'm not sure but it sound like the water pump? Anybody know how to fix it?

Thank you for your response – it turned out to be the water pump that was making that noise. I did do as your suggestion and took off the fan belt first, then run up the motor, hoping it was something driven by the fan belt and not driven by cam belt, but no luck. It wasn’t too bad a job as a friend of mine has a workshop and a hoist, and we did it between us. I changed to cam belt, tensioner, pulleys and the water pump all at the same time. It’s running sweet now. Thanks once again. Johnhh

Although the time lapse since your post, I will suggest to you to remove the poli-v belt and run the engine, as the sound looks like more of power steering pump then the water pump. The water pump is driven by a toothed belt and it is hiden by the plastic black covers.

Hi there, No, no loss of coolant whatsoever and no overheating. I’m looking at having the cam belt and water pump done as soon as I scrape up the funds.

@ReneBMWM3Power My experience with owning StopTechs were not positive over 6 years. I replaced cracked hats, caliper brackets, and calipers,plus frozen bridge bolts and corroded shims. I don't recommend StopTech, especially if your car sees salty winters. I do recommend Brembo, Wilwood and Alcon

there shouldnt be any problem when using locktite. i have mine for over 5 years on my e36 m3, and they still havent come loose

こんにちわ。レッドブルもとうとうルノーと別れそうですよね(ﾟ∀ﾟ ；)。間違いなくメインスポンサーのインフィティも必然的に離れそうですね。。インフィニティ好きには寂しい限りです。 V36はオイルは５リッターぐらい必要ですかね～前のV35の時は４リッター缶とトリートメント液４００ｍリットルでいけましたｗ

トリートメントは最近種類が増えて、毎回いろんなものを試しています。昔はSTPのものを使ってましたね。今でも売ってますよ。インフィニティもそのままロータスを買収するであろう？ルノーワークスにそのまま移りそうな感じですかね～

コメントありがとうございます。F1は、スポンサーの移り変わりが忙しく、生き物のようですね。ルノー、インフィニティは次にどこにお金を入れるのか、非常に楽しみです。トリートメント液はどちらがお勧めですか？教えていただだけると幸いですmm
