+Danky Budz shhhhh. dont burst his little bubble. he is happy to think that humans are mean and hypiocritical becuase of religion. if you tell him its part of human nature with or without religion. where are his hopes of destroying these aspect of humanity going to go? he needs religion as the scape goat in order to feel like there is a simple solution. reliogion doesnt create mean spirited dogmatic people. mean spriited dogmatic people use religon to do what they were always going to do. its a hard pill to swallow so i dont blame him for wanting to do something about it, however misguided it may be.

Ok, saying violence is the exception not the rule is applicable for any religion, the majority of any religion is not violent that is quite obvious or the planet would have ended already. Im also willing to bet many, perhaps even the majority of buddhists are ignorant and/or hypocritical, like any other religion they are introduced by their parents at a young age, they don't know much about there faith and will likely tell you they are religious because their parents are religious. As for tolerance it makes some tolerant and makes others intolerant, thats what religious radicalism is. There is also the fact that Buddhism is vastly disproportionate to the Islam, Christianity, etc. You didn't cut anything off, there is a lot of violence attributed to Islam and Christianity because of the geo-political climate however there are simply more followers of the religion.The simple reality is there is significantly more Muslims, Christians than there are Buddhists. many are Radicalized due to there faith and others are radicalized by the social, economic and political climate of the region however the most popular groups are of a certain faith because, faith is one thing that unites them, where as they would normally disagree about, social issues, political issues and economic issues.

In fact, I actually already addressed your response in my original comment by saying, "Violence among them is the exception, not the rule", acknowledging the minority of violence, and intentional speaking precisely in broad terms, in anticipation of the type of response you would make.I knew you were going to say something like, "Well Buddhists do bad things too!" so I cut that shit off ahead of time.It's like you didn't even read my comment, and you went ahead and said something superfluous. Come on man.

+Danky Budz That's because most nobody dislikes Buddhists. Violence among them is the exception, not the rule, and so is being judgmental of people's personal life choices. You generally don't see them going around on TV, or on the street, saying that you're going to reincarnate as a dung beetle if you don't change your ways.That doesn't make the superstition any more correct, but it certainly makes the people more than tolerable. Hell, they don't even try to actively convert people, they are extremely chill. So I'll still say it, if you want, "religion is cancerous" but at least these guys, and most Buddhists, aren't being intrusive, ignorant hypocrites to the point that I know more about their own religion than they do.
