It all depends oln how woeked the engine is. They run awesome. The imprtant
thing is to get the car on a dyno as soon as you can to ensure they are set
up correctly and you get the right air / fuel ratios. As to the pump it's
important to use the pump from the same bike the carbs came from to ensure
the right fuel pressure as they only need 2 - 2.5psi.

I'm installing a Duratec in mine. Hoping for around 190bhp with GSXR1000
throttle bodies, which should be a bit more fun than the 110bhp Crossflow
that's being replaced. The interior of yours is very similar to mine,
although mine has an irritatingly big rear view mirror, which blocks half
the windscreen and only gives a view of the roll bar. I know it's childish,
but do you have any acceleration numbers? I'm wondering what 180-190bhp
would do for a 0-60 or quarter mile.
I'm replacing my Type 9 with a 5 speed MX5 box. Off the top of my head, I
think the gearing is a bit shorter. I thought it had a 3.54 but after
putting some numbers into a calculator I think it's a 3.77. Might be a
little short overall but I could add a new diff to the long list of things
I want. Top speed would be around 130mph, but even on a track I don't think
I'd spend much time going that fast. The main problem is doing 3,800rpm on
the motorway.
sounds great, the Duratec is a really good engine and the aftermarket
performance stuff is much more readily available than it used to be. I
think you'll see the sunny side of 5 seconds with that much power. Depends
on your gearing too. I have a standard type 9 and 3.89 diff so it's quite
well geared for most tracks, although 1st is a bit short. I have a 3.54
diff lying about for touring, although that's not been fitted to the car
for a while :)
