the Incas mixed a number of psycho active herbs with their tobacco, especially that used in religious ceremonies. They were also into strong alcoholic mixtures, also containing psycho active herbs. Tobacco was, I believe, exclusive to the western hemisphere. The plants now grown around the world started in South and central America although it was used by natives in many parts of N America when Europeans arrived. It was the first cash crop from the colonies.

Thanks for gettin back to me man - Now I'm more interested in trying pipes. Let me know what you recommend for a beginner. I'll have to try sniffin snuff - I've only dipped/chewed it.

I'm a pipe man almost exclusively. Not into cigs, cigars are expensive, and chew kicks my ass! I sniff a little snuff here and there too ....just to keep it interesting.

Thanks for sharing that, man! So what forms of tobacco do you pefer? I smoke cigarettes and dip mostly but have a cigar now and then too. I guess I should try pipes too.

I don't believe it's hard to find. I found my copy for $6 at a used book store. It looks like it's been reprinted several times as well. Glad you enjoyed it Tim!
