+Willi Gärtner Focus ST mit 250 PS geht sehr gut, aber der GTI Performance ist einfach unglaublich effizient abgestimmt und fährt auf der Autobahn mindestens mit, wenn nicht gar weg....leider (aus Sicht des ST) ;)

Not enough poke for me, what i dont understand though is how it can be slower then the petrol focus zetec S? The petrol ZS has similar power to the diesel ST yet it is down massively on torque, 240nm vs 400nm. Yet the 0-60mph is better on the ZS and it has a higher top speed. I just think this diesel will be a bit dull to drive.

+aHumanCookiee Ive remaped my last 5 cars now its something i always do. Always check to see its potential. At ~220bhp i dont think you would be a million miles away from the petrol Focus ST after all its only a 30bhp difference. Also the petrol ST doesnt chip very well at all without additional bolt ons which is why superchips dont show a stage 1 remap, mostly because it doesnt do alot at all.

+john jacksonah ok, superchips sell you the tools to remap the car yourself so i always use them as the benchmark, i am looking forward to buying one of these st diesels myself, i may remap (purely to embarrass so bmw company car drivers and audi drivers alike). , however i am perfectly happy with 185bhp and 400nm torque and dont think i need any more than that for every day driving, however, if i wanted a track day car as well as a daily, i would invest in the remap

+aHumanCookiee Worth mentioning the pumaspeed car was 5bhp and 20nm down on the superchips car to begin with. In other words not run in properly. I agree filters are debatable in whether they add power or not. From experience peak power usually remains the same or not enough to really notice. You may free up a bit more at top RPM but thats about it. Remap would be the first thing on my list for this car, i always do it and reliability remains fine so long as its not a 20y old car to begin with.

+john jacksonsuperchips do a remap to 221hp and 490nm torque so if you really need the car to have more power then you can do that, the additional performance you get from changing the filter from the factory version are debatable , psa and ford put the stock one there for a reason, cold air intakes may look cool and even sound cool, but the community is very divided on whether they give any power gains at alledit:as for putting that torque down in 1st gear, ford have developed a torque vectoring system for the focus st

+aHumanCookiee Im aware of the diesels strengths as i owned a tuned diesel. My 140bhp ibiza now produces 197bhp and 360lb/ft of torque, problems is deploying all that torque to the road in 1st gear, just spins without feathering the throttle. I just think its a bit disappointing when its wearing the st badge is all. Luckily people are already tuning them, a remap and filter takes it to 219bhp with 466nm or torque which is definatly more like it :)

+john jackson diesel cars arent meant for traffic light gp, their strength is tremendous in gear acceleration from say 1750 rpm onwards allowing for effortless overtakes and better real world performance, a petrol car can rev a lot higher so acceleration off the line to a certain speed is quicker, i dont think 8.1 seconds is too bad either tbh, i have seen diesel st's do a 7.5 though!, as for the top speed, do you really need to be going over 135mph? if so, im sure thats not the cars actual limit, it could be restricted by ford, the old focuses always had an electronic limiter (although it never worked :P)

+Merlin Jansen The Focus ZS petrol has 240nm torque, the focus ST petrol has 345nm. The closest thing in the Focus range to this ST diesel is the petrol ZS which is a little bit faster despite being down 160nm on torque.

To slow for 185hp . I have a Golf mk6 2.0tdi 110hp rempaed to 155hp and 320nm, and this Ford cant follow me .
