This is slightly different from the version I heard, in which Athena herself supplies the axe. 'Cuz she don't need no man to open doors for her I guess.
Actually, in some versions they explaining it by saying that after she'd been eaten, Metis spent all her time forging the helmet and armour and such for Athena IN Zeus' stomach. Apparently her hammering out the metal and causing such a ruckus had Zeus in great pain.
+drekfletch Haha, you knew INSTANTLY that I was talking about your joke, didn't you?I'm not sure where it comes from--maybe that's something for me to look into. :)
Ahahaha, believe it or not I have never heard that version, I LOVE it! Totally would have included it if I'd come across it before the video. (Plus you just made someone's joke from two days ago make sense, so thankyou).

16:02-16:13 isn't it obvious Lewis? clearly those reviews are from men who
were just paying attention to Athena's ass and decided to give it a good
review just for said ass regardless the comic sucked ass.
While browsing through Escher Girls, I learned that comic book artists are
frequently told by their superiors to draw the female characters in
impossible poses, dead faces, and revealing clothing regardless of context.
The woman can be abused by her lover or disintegrated before our eyes, and
she'll very likely be drawn in a pose that shows off her boobs and butt. I
think it's very insulting to the male readers. The comic industry seems to
think that readers will lose interest in the stories if they don't see
pin-ups every five pages or so. It's an affront to art and
characterization. THAT'S the problem. The comic industry thinks men are
idiots who think with their junk. You shouldn't be "defending our right to
appreciate the female form." That's not being taken away from you. What you
should be demanding is respect from the people you're defending.
+Kimi FW Variation is nice. In real life female beauty comes in so many different forms so why can't we have it in comics as well? My guess is that comic creators are just lazy. Too bad, I and many other men likes badass musclewomen.
+Kimi FW Also, I think we're all progressive enough to celebrate diversity, so why are all the female characters, including Amanda Waller now, being drawn with the exact same body type? If the male heroes have large muscles, wouldn't it make sense for the heroines to also have visible muscle mass? Why are all the females tall and curvy? Did Michael Bay take over?
Oh -- and turning Starfire from her classic character from the 80s and 90s
into what amounts basically to a fembot from Austin Powers was really
effin' tacky. It would be as if they took Katniss Everdeen and re-imagined
her as a Hooters waitress.
i just want to say this... although last on the bandwagon, as an out and
proud gay male i must say that ,personally, I really enjoy the various
depictions of women in comics/anime/movies/series etc... with that being
said this applies if the said "product" is good, as a whole "package" ...
just having boobs and butts doesnt make your work good... and your fans
will probably be there just for the fan service. still some projects did
have both quality and fan service. but the thing is that linkara IS
right... there is a double standard that girl/women heroes have to be sexy
and it is proven that it works, the problem is that most comic fans dont
even bother looking at the bigger picture on this issue... hell they are
the same ones that complain when a gay/lesbian/pan/omni/trans character
appears in a prominent role in a big title book... this double standard has
to go... at least give us scantily clad men as well comic creators... :)
(being part of the problem obviously)
also this whole penis-phobia has got to end... so a guy has a bulge in skin
tight spandex ... get over it :P
Lewis DEFINITELY calls out a lot of the underhanded nature of the comics in treatment of both male and female superheroes. Heck it was thanks to Lewis that I felt like reading comics again (Started with Marvel Spider-Verse and I LOVED it), and that got me to find out about Cindy Moon AKA Silk who immediately became one of my favorite heroes. I don't think I've ever been so obsessed to pick up a new Silk issue when it's released, it's a great experience!
Weird though that one of the times you picked on sexualization the most was
with the new design of Starfire, possibly the only time it made sense
considering her personality and how her powers work.
+Linkara-AtopTheFourthWall Starfire was fine in the Teen Titans animated series. To be honest, I actually find her more attractive in the animated series than any of her comic book incarnations (mostly because there's no 80's hair and her innocent and lighthearted outlook on Earth culture was truly endearing and was a welcomed counterbalance to Raven's more sarcastic approach). New 52 Starfire is just tacky! I actually find the design anti-sexy. Why do creators (or editors, I'm not letting either one off the hook) think that bland, emotionless apathetics are sexy? There are harem anime characters looking at Scott Lobdell's work and calling it insulting and gauche. (I'd go on longer, but the original comment I wrote for this was long enough to fill a 5 paragraph essay)
+Melon Sherbert Yeah, in the comic where it WASN'T her usual personality and instead she was bored, lifeless, emotionless, and never smiled.

So did they mistake Paris and Menelaus as to who had a brother? Because
Paris didn't have any siblings. Menelaus did, a brother named Agamemnon who
lead the Greek forces in the Trojan War. Were the writers of this book so
stupid as to not realize how the legend went?
Is there a Frank Miller comic that isn't DKR that you do like? At this
point with your 300 comment, I'm starting to think that you don't like him
very much...
Nah, but seriously, other than B: Year one and DKR, what Miller stuff would
you recommend? 300 is stupid, but I've heard in a fun way (or at least the
movie is), Sin City is something I've heard good things about, his
Daredevil run is known to be iconic. Would you personally recommend these
titles I mentioned, and if so/if not, what other titles he wrote do you
actually like?
+Guypersonmanthing3 He mentioned how Miller's run on Daredevil tackled the subject of religion in a respectful way(forgot exactly which review that was though).
+Michael Prymula Then what is his known opinion on the Frank Miller Daredevil run other than "Frank does bad things Karen Page" which so far is the only time I know that Lewis has had some sort of opinion on Frank's DD run.Aka, the "we get it already" women's in refrigerators joke,
+Michael Prymula I heard his Daredevil run is classic. To which Linkara had to mention a character death and seemed to dismiss the comic with a mocking tone.
+Guypersonmanthing3 He kinda liked Miller's Terminator Vs Robocop comic and I believe he's also said he liked Miller's Daredevil run and Sin City as well.Linkara basically hates everything Miller did from Dark Knight Strikes Again onwards(excluding Dark Knight 3 Master Race, which Miller didn't write)
I loved the King of Worms. His not appearing until the climax just made him
MOAR AWESOME. His build up was fun and ominous, and it FELT like an epic to
me. I love stories with eldritch horror deities, so going back to something
of the Entity's level was great for me.
Proper Eldritch horror storytelling with the long build up to the King of Worms. Thank you for not dissappointing, Linkara, I am so glad I watch this series, love the meta story.

Brother just a thought do you think this universe is just meant for be
empty or did God want us be advanced and terraform planets and colonize
them with the animals from earth? Just a thought.
Anyway God bless bro!!
When we are given our glorified bodies and God restores the universe due to the fall of man, we will be able to explore His entire creation. God made it all for us, His children. If there is life on other planets, they'd be fall too since all of creation fell along with Adam and Eve.
Take the word "Atlas" and replace it with "Crimson Lance". The Crimson
Lance was a merc army that just so happened to be paid by Atlas during the
events of Borderlands. Atlas fell apart at the end of the main game when
the CEO got killed.
+blockhead134 No. The Crimson Lance is Atlas own army. They completely serve only Atlas. Atlas fell because they lost Steele as one of their Seargeants and then sent Knoxx to make sure the Planet remains under their control, sending most of their Crimson Lance Soldiers and a Shitload of Equipment, making them bankrupt. Than, and thats the final strike that wiped Atlas out, Jack had Nakayama poison their CEO. This chain of events finally turned Atlas down, but the Lance always was "property" of the Atlas Corporation, like the Loaders in BL2 only serve Hyperion and the Batallion Axton was serving in was part of Dahl.
Think about this, The Spawn station in Borderlands 2 is "Hyperion"
(remember that...) Handsome Jack is the president of "Hyperion"... See what
I'm trying to say? With out the Antagonist helped you survive.
Do you think that Athena might be the Sheriff of Lynchwood, or jacks gf. I
don't remember Athena much so the voice to me definitely seems somewhat
familiar.
i think athena is in some way related to zero because the POV i got from a
close friend of myne show her and Zero with 96.3% of the same moves and
settings il try her out to see what she is really like but im more
interested in wilhelm
