OK I've got a problem. The only thing that works on the software is the master and mic volume. Nothing else works. I'm using the same program and it came with my GB Z97X-Gaming 5 MoBo. I have stereo speakers (old af) and I think stereo headphones (SS Siberia V2 Kingston HyperX edition). I've reinstalled the software from the disk twice and nothing works. Everything is connected to the audio card of the MoBo (not the case sound connectors). How do I make it work?

+timerac3r Sorry it doesn't work for you, you might want to contact Gigabyte? Apart from the usual diagnostic steps such as re-installing the program, I'm not sure I can help much :(

There is ext pci ports over usb for sound cards so you can have 2 pci ports but they cost 300$ anyone know a cheaper way maybe using a 2nd computer. Does anyone know if there is a sound card with wave table port that is 7.1? i found a 5.1 eax card with wave table that has dos mode also.

Great video! I only wanted to know if anyone could help me with something.. my laptop came with the SBX-Fi MB3 installed, but it doesn´t show up on the sound devices like yours did... I have this pc for quite some time now, but I haven't really checked everything in it :P and one of the things I wanted to now how to work with was this sound program. I can open it just like you do in the video and change it's settings and everything, but it's not in the playback devices. it also doesn't do anything when I play with it.. the only device that I can see (and it's the default one now) is Realtek's... I don't know what I'm supposed to do, so if anyone can answer I'd really apreciate it.

+PhilsComputerLab hey, thanks for replying, but turns out I was wrong.. :P it does work. however it still does not appear in the devices. it's working on top of the realtek device. I thought it wasn´t doing anything because it did not appear as a new device and I couldn´t hear any difference in the sounds, but once I put my headphones on it was clear it worked. it's a great software btw... I also noticed it was configured to headphones when I had none plugged in.. I changed that and tried to listen more carefully this time x) (I turned up the sound and it did make a difference)... I was to hasty on that comment. should've tried more solutions first. thanks anyway though.

+Peashoter Dias Does the notebook come with phone support? You can always try to uninstall and then re-install the program, but make sure you write down a licence key or something like that.

Eh, virtual surround thing never really worked on headphones. It just maps the rear speakers to the front ones. But on stereo though, it worked scarily well in UT2004.

A lot has to do because modern games process audio in software and render it for 5.1 speakers, which then get mapped as virtual speakers to the headphones.You get a better experience with older Windows XP games such as BF 2142, F.E.A.R. or Far Cry. I might do a video on that actually.

+PhilsComputerLab A3D did work, but I meant that this specifically doesn't really work as well as A3D. (and yes, I do remember watching the video)Maybe because I'm using earbuds, but then again, Dolby's match box demo works just fine.

+xan1242 Sorry, and I don't want to sound rude, but that simply is wrong. But I'm not one of those who just state something, I have some videos for you to watch. On my channel, do a search on A3D. There is a video with A3D demos. Listen to it with headphones, but disable any processing, like crystallizer and whatnot. Just in Stereo.

Thanks for the review, this really made my Realtek ALC1150 sounds a whole lot better, I was thinking about getting a sound card until I found this, it is amazing! Too bad voicefx will not work, did they just locked it out or do we need a special chip for it to work?

No they don't indeed. I had to get it unofficially because the MB3 will not work on my Windows 10, I had to settle with this after spending hours trying to get it launch properly. BTW, the Voice FX works, I just had to set up the recording device..

Isn't that an OEM version for DELL? I also know of some dodgy pirate version that floats around. Creative isn't selling this version, are they?

I forgot to mention I actually got the MB5 version with Win10 support, The MB5 has everything mentioned in your review. It has the VoiceFX tab but the options are greyed out. Sorry, I didn't know these options are not available on MB3. :(

+Hahn Loh LOL I had to watch my own video to remember the details :) Looks like it doesn't have VoiceFX. I guess they didn't want to make X-Fi MB3 too good and leave something for the sound cards?
