To upgrade the turbo to that max you have to have some type of bolt ons
corrects? I was looking at that turbo and thats why they said. Minimum a
down pipe. Because I was just thinking of investing the upgrade tubo
instead of doing bolt ons
Try it on good clean pavement with the temperature about 55f. You should
hit 60 as 2nd winds out in the 5.7-5.9 range. Tire grip is the difficult
part.
I owe one, love it but its no 0-60 weapon really, but the torque out of
corners is fab.My big issue is the thumping that goes on over bumps while
hard on the throttle.
the actually its the engine hitting the firewall. the rear engine mounts are week from the factory. cobb makes a really good rear motor mount for cheap that eliminates that issue and causes better grip. it does wheel hop as well but that mount will stiffin it up and virtually eliminate the hop and thump
Quick acceleration run of my 09 Mazdaspeed3. Only thing installed is a Sure SRI. Everything else is stock. Very soft launch and shifting. Just getting a general ...
Yeah I sold it to get a focus st. My speed had non stop problems. I'd watch out for a rough idle, any misfire codes, vvt noise, and normal maintenance of course. And if you plan on doing any modifications to it, do yourself a favor and make your first purchase a set of hpfp internals. It's one of the big weak points on these cars, and if it goes you can blow the motor. You'll hear all about it if you do some research. Cost you about $300, but after that you can mod away without much worries.
Car and Driver - "Calls to Mazda yielded tips: Pop the clutch at 2900 rpm,
upshift at 6000 — redline is 6700 — and flat-shift through second and
third."
Mods are Cobb SRI Cobb TIP Cobb AP Tuned by Phate, (20 psi all the way to redline) Test Pipe TurboXS Catback (I dont think the tune really matters.. since 1st ...
fidn out the torque curve, and the gearing [tire diameter too], and the
cars drag. then, you can determine optimum shift points. as a rule, you're
best off accelerating to full redline in first gear, but the other gears
are best determined first to see if an early shift is better. so, for one
thing, shift at redline in 1st gear , which is something you're not doing
in the video
Have you figured out why its slower thn it should be? just bought a cobalt
ss turbo and cand 60 in 5.5, but best I can get is 6.5. Then i learned
about theNo Lift Shift feature and that shaved over a hlf seccon off. So I
can get just under 6 now..still not so good. Maybe your car has a special
shift or launch that other people are ussing?? Love the ms3..Almost got one
Have you ever driven a Mazdaspeed 3/6? They don't make any power for 1,000
revs before redline. Why WOULDN'T you shift during the peak power band of
3500-5500? Oh, nevermind me, I only ran my fully bolted Speed3 at the track
several 8 times. I'm just a yankee twat. Why don't you throw some videos up
of your mad skills in a Peugot and take me out for some crumpets.
correct my friend got rx-8 they r slow. now to get faster in ur ms3 u need
: - tires (potenza 215 suck ass)/ some soft 225 will do good job - start
under 3k rpm - dont drop the clutch - 1st and 2nd gear throttle halfway or
all the way down - shift at 5600 not earlier or later and to get even
faster : throw spare tire out, rear seats, get a rear motor mount :)
its not because of the shifting. He is shifting too late. People that know
about mazdaspeed 3 / 6's know that the power band drops off like a cliff
past 5500 rpm. In a near stock car you need to shift at 5500... not at
redline. If you shift at the right spot you will be breaking 6 seconds no
prob.
?? Have you even driven a car before? It is physically impossible to get a
FWD car of the same power and type...to do a 0-60 as fast as a AWD of the
same power and type. Its simple physics...4 wheels turning is going to be
able to get more traction and accelorate the car faster then 2
ok the reason he isnt getting faster is because his launch the second
thinbg is u shift a bit early and the third thing shift faster and the
fourth thing dont lift off when u shift if u really want tht 5.5 second
zero to sixty time lol we should race sometime i got a mini cooper s
I weigh probably as much as you and your passenger combined, and my only
0-60 test I've done was in 5.85 (according to the DashHawk). Suggestions:
1. Don't launch above 2000 rpm 2. Shift at 5500 rpm 3. Only lift halfway
off the throttle while shifting
I do enough of scholorly writing in school...no reason to do that online. I
get my point across and thats it. And the fact that the MS6 weighs 500
pounds more doesnt really matter considering its AWD Just admit it...you
don't know shit about cars
mmmm... ms3 is faster. neck to neck, its really whoever hits boost first..
ms6 weighs 500 more.. anyone who says that does not make a difference is
wrong, ms3 is faster stock than a stock ms6, as long as you shut off dsc
and drive her properly...
These cars aren't setup for drag or quick 0-60 although you can if you
build it right.. high 5s to low 6s 0-60 is normal. Remember your boost is
limited in 1st and I believe 2nd gear as well.. If im not mistaken
Is that not how it works? Are you really trying to tell me I'm wrong about
a car I built and drove for 2 and a half years on the daily? I'd like to
slap you, but I'd have to get my hand out of your mother's cunt.
Well, it looks approximately 4 seconds for me. I noticed start at late 5
sec on the video (almost 6) and 60mph reached at 9 seconds of the video. So
it is under 4 seconds for me. Impressive! How did you get 6.5?
Build it out of lego did you? Changing up at peak power is not the rule for
changing up. If you don't understand that then you really don't have much
chance of providing anything resembling advice to anyone.
No lift means you dont let off the gas while shifting. Its kinda bad for
the transmission, but you get better times. The new Cobalt SS turbo allows
it, however, without damaging the trans.
And it is possible to get a car to go faster 0-60 than an AWD car if its
setup properly.. It can happen but yea in general an awd car or rwd will
usually launch way better..
@kyleisreallycool You can't redline this car like you're some riced idiot.
It has more to do with the computer unit than the turbo itself. Are you one
of those guys?
Arent speed 3's suppose to do it in the 5's? Your not too far off maybe it
wasnt broken in all the way yet? How much gas did you have? What was your
tire pressure?
Mazdaspeed 6 is AWD...Speed 3 is front wheel drive. NO way in hell you will
get it down to 5.5. high 5s is very good for speed 3 considering its front
wheel drive
