Our God Reigns (feat. BJ Putnam) Acoustic Guitar Cover
This is an acoustic cover of the song "Our God Reigns" by Israel & New Breed. A few mistakes here and there but I hope you guys are blessed by this video and ...
+Eugene Bayawa hey sorry for the late response bro but yeah thats what it is without the last down strum at the end, you just repeat DDU but you can also throw in a quick down strum like you suggested
+Eddy Avila Thanks bro, For the intro and the verses its just three chords which are a B major chord, G#m chord, and an F# major chord. Pre chorus chords are E Major, G#m, B major, and F# Major. The walk up for the chorus is G#, A#, B, E all as power chords and the walk down is the same chords backwards with an E Major to finish the progression. The interlude after that is E Major, B Major, G#m, and again E Major. Bridge chords are E, B, E, G#m, E. The G#m chord shape I use is a chord shape that Israel loves to use, 2nd finger on the G#, 3rd on the F#, and 4th on the A# all on the 6th, 4th, and 3rd string and just make sure to mute the fifth string. Hopefully this helps and wasn't confusing bro.
Did this in a few minutes for fun. Learned it by ear and do not own a chord chart for it. Recorded it with Logic X. I do not own the song or the rights. Check out my ...
If you can assist me here, dude, I'll really appreciate it.
On 3:25 - 3:27 you play a certain Ab chord but its not a natural Ab, can
you tell me which one you use? I've been going at this video for days and
I'm making a music sheet about this song. Your cover was SPOT ON, my man.
Thank YOU soon much for uploading this video. Keep On Rockin'
Tried replying to this a while back but it wouldn't let me. E/G# is the chord I played.
"we have overcome" israel houghton acoustic cover
powerful song! haha... yeah... i know i'm not black =P sorry for the sour notes. i don't actually sing this live. i just play guitar. if you want to play along it's a half ...
thanks bro =P haha record yourself... even if it's just with cheap laptop
mics. it's weird at first but i think it helps me knit pick my playing.
yeah... that interlude... i don't know how israel could sing and play some
of the things he does. it's really hard for me. thanks for the feed back...
i'll definitely try your suggestions.
haha that out-breathing in the end XD well i dont know that song but you
did well. Dont have to rate your guitar skills. Your on a high level anyway
:P Your voice is actually very powerful and perfect for rock songs. In this
vid you kinda changed it, but you are still very good. So i like it ;)
hey i just started trying (note: trying) to learn this song. i'm trying to
figure out how to get the couple notes to ring while muting the other
strings during the riff before the bridge... cuz i see that you're still
strumming big and the riff's still being heard..
hmmm... i'm not sure what you mean bro. usually... when i play a bass note
not on the low e string... i either mute it with my thumb or fore-finger.
=P and for the verse i think you can keep the high e and b ring throughout.
hope that helps. =)
I'm not better than you^.^ your guitar skills are awesome and your voice is
different (special) ;) yea i watched the original. i know what you mean. I
also try to change sometimes. but one can hear that =DD keep it real XD
lol... you're way better than me dude! that means a lot comming from you. i
really love this song. i was attempting to be "soulful" ^.^ haha probably
not the right song for my range.
appreciate it :) you can probably google tabs for it. i just down-tuned a
half step. but i learn it from the real version... this one has errors =P
hope it works out for you =)
nice interlude. kermit you're the one hallelujah!! you've got soul but what
about redoing it with your own voice? I think that would be great ;) 5
stars for you!
yeah that helps. half hahaa. i was asking about 2:22ish part, where no high
strings are strummed. and the bass notes not not on the low E is being heard
