+Kenny Rouffe regardless of who made it, this was treated as a pilot episode so I'm guessing it works the same as their other planets. Incidentally, there was a IndieGoGo campaign last November asking for $40,000 to make this into a series. They raised almost $20,000 and collected that money so I'm going to assume that something is actually going to come of this. A web series doesn't raise $20,000 without doing something more with it.

Art like this is what pisses off my best friend who was a very talented
artist. This doesn't showcase any artistic skill, it's total bullshit. She
hates modern art because it is art with "meaning" and no actual skill. Just
shove something in your cooch or piss on stage and you can call it art.
Meanwhile there is art out there that actually took like 20 hours of
painting or sculpting or choreography to make that people could be enjoying
instead.
+Bagi K Artist like her are just crazy attention whores. Who cant find any other meaning in their sad existence so they do whatever it takes to get attention.
What your friend, like many of us is into is conceptual art. Its still modern. The issue with this is that some fools believe art is doing something controversial and shocking without any real skill or meaning. Slap a label on it like feminism to get people talking. Thats exactly what this is, it isn't art and she's putting us true artists in a bad light.
+killerfrenchy https://vimeo.com/67556847 It's a true disgrace for "art." I am sure your friend is fantastic. Anyone and everyone can do a better job than this chick right here.
they not Jew but white, you see how white people get exited out this sick stuff think its alright. they enjoying this sick shit because white people is a straight devil.
As someone who's an art student, this is far from out of the norm for
performance art pieces.
I've seen men, women, and groups all do similar things, all with their own
reasons.
This is really only shocking people because it hit the mainstream and the
majority of people have never been exposed to people like Jonathan Meese,
Chris Burden, Hermann Nitsch, Mao Sugiyama, and Marina Abramovic.
*Nothing abnormal here, guys. Totally run of the mill university art course
stuff.*
+FinnyIicious Well the thing is, in most performance art pieces, a lot of knowledge, backstory and context is required to understand the nuance of them. This Lauren Barri Holstein chick uses extreme satire to throw pop culture memes and extreme portrayals of women in your face. To someone without the context (which is most of the human race unfortunately) it just comes off as snobbish or attention seeking behavior. Its kinda ironic because art is ultimately all about attention seeking in a sense.
Where do you live?My lecturer last year was involved heavily in performance art, like this. We saw similar things involving her, and nobody really cared.I know that it's not illegal to be naked in front of your students in the UK, the USA, or, as far as i know, most of Europe.Hell, despite being frowned upon, it's completely legal to have sex with your lecturer in the UK and majority of the USA.It's more of an ethical problem that universities deal with on a case by case basis. That's completely different though, so nevermind...If the teacher said ''i'm going to show you my tits now,'' and had a reason to flash that furthered the point she was making, then flashed, that's not against the law.She might (might, as in, if someone prudish and weird, who cared too much about inconsequential nothings, decided to report it) get told off, but i doubt she's be fired. There definitely wouldn't be legal action. The most you would get is a 'news' story like this one. Also, i disagree with your notion that it would make it more difficult to learn. I feel like the majority of people on a university art course are at a maturity level where they can handle a bit of nudity. What exactly would make it difficult for someone to learn from a teacher they've seen naked?I feel like, maybe, you, like the person who sent this story to the media, are the kind of person who would have reported this, whereas everyone else in the classroom was just busy listening and learning. It really wasn't a big deal, at all.Are you really so immature as to make that much of a deal about sexuality? If so, you probably shouldn't be on an art course anyway. The whole point of art is free and open expression.
+FinnyIicious I thought about the same, I study aesthetics too... This is basically what performance art is.The only offensive part of this is that it's the teacher who is in the video... I don't know what the laws are where this woman teaches, but I'm pretty sure it's illegal where I live for a teacher to show themselves nude to his or her students... at least they'd get in big trouble for it. It makes no difference if it occurs in the classroom or in a video. You can study performance art and theatre without having to make it so close to home; there's a million videos out there of feminist performance art so that you DON'T have to show yourself to your students - and you can still make the same point! In fact, I think it'll be MORE DIFFICULT to make the proper point to the students if they're distracted by the fact that their teacher is putting a knife up her vagina.
Performance art is an excuse for people to be huge freaks and in this case
make feminism look like a load of horse shit. You don't have to be an
artist to judge art. There would be no point in having it ,so in my opinion
this isn't art but just some bullshit this freak professor thought would
fun to make.
+Thurman Ulrich I respectfully disagree, in relation to this particular context. She showed them her artwork, which happens to include nudity. Her intent was not to arouse them or become a predator, but to show them a guideline of the class. For example, in health class, we see a woman birthing a child. And in many art history classes, we see sexual imagery (in one particular art history class, we discussed erotic art). In one of my sculpture classes, during my time as a student, a classmate disrobed and tried to tie herself to a chair as a performance. Or what about live nude models (sure, it's more "accessible," but it's exposure too.) Is that considered porn and harassment? No. Just because nudity is involved, does not mean all of the negative connotations are attached, especially, in the context of the conversation. Intent and context is key here.
Might I suggest both of you to research Judy Chicago? A true feminist artist, who actually succeeded at her craft. Look up any of her performances, in particular "Cock and Cunt." Her work is less aggressive. I see this woman (the teacher) referencing ideas evident in Judy Chicago's Womanhouse, espeically with the use of household objects.
+beboguerraWe weren't talking about inspiration. We were talking about how the piece can be perceived as feminist art. But talking to people who don't educate themselves on art theory is like talking to a child who only sees black and white.
+RabbitGirl If you think nude art and naked art is the same thing, then as I've said, you have no understanding of context. Especially in relation to art. Like I said, you're talking about accessible art and not art theory. For without theory, art wouldn't exist. Any theorist would tell you that, it's basically Art Philosophy 101. Art has purpose, and purpose is supported by theory. Might I suggest you read Hilde Hein and George Dickie? Actual respected art theorist. More than that, what word would you use to describe looking at the body for the colors and curves? Liking? No, it's appreciation. It's not a dirty term. That's what the purpose of those paintings were, any art historian will tell you that. But today, the general public thinks those works was about celebrating the female form. And although you can "appreciate" the paintings today in a non sexual manner, it wasn't the intent of the painter. Most of those paintings were painted by men, who were commissioned by rich men for their own perversions. History has supported this, a great (and more blatant) example is the painting, "An Allegory of Venus and Cupid."Again, this is about feminist art in the artworld, not mainstream media... It's not about either of our opinions of whether it's good or bad, or if we like it. So I'm not "representing" your sex. I'm talking about art.
Now with all the symbolism you just assigned to the items and actions in this "art" piece do you really think it is inspiring anybody to take up the cause of promoting feminist goals. I don't see how this could inspire anyone, if anything it's turning people away and making feminist look ridiculous. Unless someone is an art enthusiast like yourself and can attribute oppression to cutting tomatoes with a vagina knife I don't think this art piece is going to make sense anytime soon. This is just a video some weird lady made on her off time.
+Howard Lockwood you took that way too far. Its a crazy naked woman peeing on camera and cutting fruit with her vagina. Defend all you want with your theories, but there's no getting past the facts. It's gross, uncalled for, and downright shameful. If you want to represent the female gender, do it in ways that doesn't disgust people and in way that's not so "orgasmic". Also, nude art is also used to appreciate the body. This isn't about spreading your legs and taking a photo, its about the beauty of humanity and curves and colors. Seriously though, what you said pretty much has no ground in anywhere except your own imagination. Please don't represent my sex, because that would be degrading to me and to my fellow sisters. I can't believe feminism has taken such a low that they would come up with these things and then interpret it. Even the feminists of old (well technically they weren't feminists but you sure have adopted them anyway for giving you the right to vote) would burn their bras and give a medal to a goat. I'd take that sort of crazy over this any day. And please don't interpret my use of "crazy" either.
+beboguerra Of course... Well, feminist art was created to add the female voice to the mostly male dominated industry, in which women were objectified (in the context of art history). The female form was presented in the "nude" to stimulate men, opposed to them being "naked" in their ordinariness. (I'm only using the portrayal of the female body as an example, there are plenty of other ways women were silenced in art.) So when the first real wave of feminist art came about, they used household objects to represent their point. With that in mind, she is using items (the knife and groceries) as a form of domesticity to reference a sense of oppression. In this case, she may be referring to sexual oppression, in how the female genitalia is perceived as sexual, in that it receives the penis, but it actually has an active power (giving birth). Her use of nudity is candid, versus being idolized. If anything, her performance is about the subjection of women, and the aggression needed to obtain some form of identity. This is evident in the introduction, using the term “bitch” as a insulting/endearing word that encompasses who she is in relation to the things she will do. The song "A whole new world" is self explanatory, in the context of her piece. But because we only see the trailer, her performance is somewhat taken out of context. I see it as a celebration for the female voice in the stiffening chaos of society.Again, I don’t care for her work, but to say it’s shit because you don’t understand it, is a sign of ignorance. I'm not saying her art is good or bad, but all "fine" art has relevancy.
Okay than, could you please help me understand how this supports feminist goals since apparently you already understand and are "inside" art appreciation.
You're right, you don't have to be an artist to enjoy or judge art... but you do have to have a proper understanding of aesthetic theory. Otherwise, you're just ignorantly commenting on a topic you lack the understanding of, in the context of the art world.I'm not saying your opinion is wrong, but it's an opinion that exist outside the confinements of art theory. People who are on the "outside" have an appreciation for representational art, as it is more accessible, but "art" isn't about accessibility. And such works become simply derivative and boring. As an art enthusiast, I don't particularly care for this work, but I can understand how the artist may have intended for it to be feminist art.

Ok, not even gonna front: she's hot. Little flat chested, a little buff,
but great abs, wonderful voice, , decent energy and strong as F***!
Obviously been trained, too. It would be a bit kinky, maybe a little
dangerous, but yeah, she is definitely datable.
+TheGodOfErrors _Ain't it,_ though? Strong, funny, nice smile, apparently not shy in front of a camera... Dude if she's as smart as she is powerful and had anything above a 36-C cup naturally, she'd be damn near perfect! :-)
+TheGodOfErrors With hips like that, dude, it's more than likely she just burned off all of her own fat; she's STILL too curvy to be manly. But yeah, she is Buff. On a whole different level, that kind of strength by itself is hot! This is a girl who can obviously take rough play and put up some equivilent physical reistance.
and she seem to think shes sexy or something... theres way to many views
for something you can do without any muscles.... and why in the fu...k does
she need to wear heels?? what a waste of my time...
Hmm when you end up on the weird side of youtube thanks to a facebook post.
WTF is this freaky shit. Its not porn but its its not eating and its not a
work out. Hmm wonder what that guys like when she starts to reach her
climax. I bet he waits for her to pop his balls.
+Verrrbatim Pretty sure this isn't a troll. If your eyes can only see 30 FPS, and cannot notice anything above it, then why would you see the bullet at a higher FPS and not at a lower one? Why even have a 60 FPS option on Youtube if you can only see 30? Why do 60 FPS videos look smoother than 30 FPS videos? I guess it's just magic, maybe we should call up David Blaine to explain the trick.
+Verrrbatim You said "ur eye can only see 30 fps any way thats why movies are recording in low ^^" I think you might be a troll though. If you have heard of the Hobbit movies they are recorded and played at 48FPS. If the statement you said is true than there would be no reason for the movies to be made at 48FPS, they would have just made them at 30FPS. In fact there would be no reason for video games to be any more than 30FPS. I don't know where your getting your information but its wrong dude just wrong.
+Super Maqic! Nope you guys are all wrong. Your brain can process images at 90+ FPS. This video plays at 24 fps but was recorded at 400 FPS. So what you are seeing is 24FPS.

+Greg Shook Bibles always have an unpleasant, papery smell. I usually like the smell of books but the ones with the really thin pages, like a few of my textbooks, always smell funny.
Haha. Yes that is a good one. However, my fiancé is right next to me so in pretty sure the bible is pretty closed shut. We're just not party people and my meds usually make me really tired so sadly Netflix is off by this point.
