A documentary for Cybercultures class at Portland State University exploring the relationship between music piracy and what it has done to transform our ...
Illegal downloading /piracy is anti semitic because the Jewish media bosses
at the big record companies are losing profits from such theft. The common
argument is that the artists themselves see little profits from album
sales, but that doesnt change the fact that the big record companies are
being robbed of potential profits. Use self control when it comes to
downloading. If you are considering pirating music, use the simple process
of 1. Stop. 2. Think 3. Close and live an honest life.
The growth of piracy is a reflection of consumer's shifted perspective of
digital product valuation. As consumer's are able to obtain social
profiles, applications, & media for free, that value has become an
ubiquitous expectation for the compensation of online products. Why pay for
anything online when there's almost always an analog product, if not the
same product, for free somewhere in the cybersphere? Now we're seeing
Freemium models as businesses adapt to this consumer perspective.
I really think that the whole downloading thing is here and here to stay.
Its such a part of who we are. Its innate in our culture that with new
technologies come new ways of communicating and exhanging info. Its like
this downloading thing is its own area...i talk to people all the time that
download and its like our own language. Good video!
