+suburban homestead Funny thing is I am a vegan and I am passionate about animals (not only the pretty ones), but this MONSTER is just a bit hard to love...! :-) I probably would not kill it if I ever met one, but I would sure as hell RUN! :-))
+suburban homestead Agree on the three first statements, but the mantis freaked me out! :-O Yuk, that is one of my very few phobias. We don't have them in my country - THANK GOD - but if we did I would probably get myself a rifle and start shooting around me in panic.
Great video, is there any way I can interest you in a seed trade? I'm
interested in the collards you have, I've never seen them before, if not
maybe something else if you want to see what I have check out
TheTinCangardener #my seed collection.
Thanks

I am an admin for a Face Book page called Harvest Right Freeze Dryers. We
all either own or would like to own a home freeze dryer.
One of our members said there was a Prepper Convention in Salt Lake City
recently that had a Harvest Right company representative there and was
offering the units at a big discount.
I would like to find a list of upcoming Prepper conventions anywhere in the
U S.
Do you know of a web site that could help?
I plant indeterminate tomatoes they grow to over 8 ft tall I use those
green stakes they use for wire fencing you have them holding your fence, I
cut 2x4s in half lengthwise and screwed them on the green posts with wood
screws and this is what I use for tomato stakes. Have been using them for
the last 20 yrs, easy to put in the ground and easy to tie tomatoes on.
Have drilled holes in side to slip the twine in while tying up.
Small harvest is better than no harvest! If you haven't checked out
L2Survive channel please do as he shows how he gardens and the abundance of
fruits and vegetables he is blessed with. Hope you can find something to
help for maybe next year when you're ready to move in permanently.
I dont know what Oaks I have around here, But we are always cutting the
back quick' because we have not the room to spare on our acre. I could
collect the acorns come latter Summer and send a few ; If you 'd think you
want some.

I had the same problem with my gardens this spring - too much water. Got
into growing shiitake mushrooms on oak logs. Having very good results with
those. Going to increase the shiitake project this winter.
Even Bexar can learn new tricks. So today were making Pesto a little differently for our made from scratch food storage meal. If you like nuts in your pesto try ...
Excellent post. Pesto is yummy and can be made with any kind of nut really.
I'm gonna try it with some raw, shelled hemp seed hearts I picked up at
the local health store. They are so tasty and extremely nutritious. The
reason the basil stays green is because the blanching stops the enzyme
action which stops the breakdown of it and retains the flavor better in the
long run. For corn on the cob you'll need to blanch the ears for right
around 4 min. to stop the enzyme action before throwing in the freezer.
That's the best method I've found for preserving that fresh flavor and
texture. Yum! Thanks, Hon Love your vids. The little tips you add makes
them so much better than many on Y.T. because it's obvious there's a real
person behind the camera that gives a poo, if ya know what I mean. ;+)
Thanks for sharing with us.

can you grow staghorn sumac down there? it's just coming into it's prime
season here but it makes GREAT lemonade... you have to strain it because
it's got nasty little hairs... but pretty and free.
