after a 2 week trip doing a loop from SF to LA and back, we needed to get
back to San Francisco to catch our flights home. We covered this entire
drive in your video plus a little side trip to see the poppies at Antelope
Valley. you are right that there's not much more to see along I-5 north
after this point... we continued driving up to the Lost Hills exit and cut
west across HWY 46 to HWY 101, which was full of amazing scenery! I would
love to do this drive again some day when we had more time to stop along
the way. thanks for posting this video, nice to relive some memories. I
must say though, video can't really capture the feeling you have of
actually being there.
at 6:42, Interstate 5 runs parallel to the San Andreas Fault and the fault
also turns from WNW to NW.
It's such a beautiful area, yet I would hate to be there when the next one
hits.
Great capture! There really isn't anything like I-5 through the Grapevine.
Is that smog I was seeing in the distance as you descended into Central
Valley?
Yes, I grew up in Bakersfield and they have the worst smog in the nation!
Driving from Coors Field to the Coors Brewery in Golden, CO
