The best way to change attitudes is to go to the source. Ceasefire promotes
actual confrontation by mingling with the at risk youth's and stressing
alternatives to the senseless violence and shootings. By going out and just
talking to the kids it makes a world of difference. Especially when the
actual speakers were once involved in the same situations. Street
credibility aids in gaining the kids respect and therefore they tend to be
more willing to listen. Ceasefire has been successful in reaching some,
but, more work needs to be done. It's a tedious process but it works!!!!!
Cutting the funding makes no sense.
