JGB 'Lonesome and a Long Way From Home'Jerry Day7 9 09randtfilm
JGB featuring my old friend and roomate Rob Wenig on bass guitar and Melvin Seals on keys. 'Dear Prudence' is listed but not included here, watch for it next!
I listened to it twice just to get a mental image of the environment. If
you listen closely just about the time the interviewer mentions "The
Playboy Club" Jerry says just as that is being said "Class shit" and then
it seems to me that someone, Jerry maybe is passing the mirror to offer and
that's when the interviewer says "No, no, I don't need 10 grand and a year
in jail" and whoop and Jerry says "I do." The interviewer sounds young. I
would gather that he was.
Hard core to do interview when people are getting high and you aren't. I
wonder if the interviewer was from Pawtucket? At this time (2013) Pawtucket
has a population of 71,153. I presume there were less people then (1978).
Anyways, I mean no harm. I am just conversing with you good folks.
What's cool is when he says "Everyone is running out of things to say" and
the all of them jump right out. I really dig the humanity of it all. I am
grateful (no pun intended) to hear history. Thanks for the upload and big
kudos to the cat who did the interview. I hope that he is a-okay!
WBRU is the radio station for Brown University. The interviewer was
probably a college student (though he certainly doesn't sound particularly
bright for a Brown student).
